2018 release, the ninth album from the Houston, Texas-based alternative rock band. Blue October is known for shimmering rock songs and haunting lyrics on albums such as 2009's Billboard Top 15 debut, Approaching Normal, 2011's Billboard Top Ten debut Any Man In America and the Platinum-selling Foiled. Review: I was very pleased with this cd - Foiled had a real impact on me in 2006. Someone I met had to leave and this cd pulled me through. Am going to see blue October tomorrow in New orleans and I purchased this cd a month ago. It is a great cd, have listened to it at least 15 times. Can't get enough of it. Review: Wonderful - A masterpiece. It really makes you wonder when you listen to music like this how certain sub par songs make it popular on the radio and not ones like this band. So talented - love love love.

Love!
Every album by Blue October has spoken to me. There is always "Favorites" on each album, but I Hope You're Happy is my favorite package. Every song builds upon experience and growth. I was so excited when I heard "I Hope You're Happy" on one of my streaming services and my daughter fell in love with "Your Love is Like a Car Wreck". I usually want to play the first half of a CD/album over and over again, but I enjoy the latter half much more! I Hope You're Happy builds on each song to end on "Dive Further" which I feel is the epitome of vulnerability. Music is to be emotionally felt, and Blue October has once again achieved this. I have had this album since last year and continuously listen to "King", "All That We Are", "Dive Further", "I Hope You're Happy", "Dance in Time" and "Daylight".

Just buy it already
Did not care for this when I first heard the single โI hope your happyโ but of course the more I listened the more I liked as with most of their newer music as of late. Seen them twice now in concert. Recommend! Super underrated band.

Your baby is a monster. You don't know the things I've done.
I was not aware of Blue October until their fourth album, "Foiled" in 2006. I really liked that album, and so I invested in this band by buying up their first three albums and continuing to follow with each new release they put out. The band always puts out reasonably good albums, and occasionally a classic. "I Hope You're Happy" is another reasonably good album with several winning songs, but I have to say, that it also has some throwaways. The songs that stood out to me were "Your Love is Like a Car Crash", "I Want to Come Back Home", "I'll Do Me, You Do You", "I Hope You're Happy", "How to Dance in Time", "Let Forever Mean Forever" and "Further Dive". If the band had spent a little more time on the other tracks, and if the band had included a few more rockers to balance out the ballads, "I Hope You're Happy" would have been a classic. But as it stands, it is a solid four star album. I just felt "Daylight" was a weak opener, and "Colors Collide" should have been a b-side, and "Remission in CMaj" should have been left off. "King" and "All That We Are" should have been reworked a bit. And, the last three minutes of "Further Dive" should have been chopped as the song really ends at the six minute point, and the additional three minutes just drags a great song to the nine minute point without really having a point. I mean, I think of bands like Yes, Genesis, Rush, King Crimson, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, where their nine minute songs are fully realized and utilized, without a note wasted. Blue October is still going strong at the 20 year mark, and although I wish the band had more mainstream success, I am also happy that they are still relatively unknown in popular circles. I also very much appreciate Justin Furstenfeld's openness about his mental illness and family life struggles. I can't really think of any other rock singer right now who is so boldly expressing this side of themselves, and I think it's great. Here's how "I Hope You're Happy" compares to Blue October's previous works: 1998 The Answers: Four Stars 2000 Consent To Treatment: Three and a Half Stars 2003 History For Sale: Four and a Half Stars 2006 Foiled: Four Stars 2009 Approaching Normal: Three and a Half Stars 2011 Any Man In America: Five Stars 2013 Sway: Four Stars 2016 Home: Four Stars 2018 I Hope You're Happy: Four Stars

WOW, this album goes from pop to hard rock and back
I took a chance on this band based on that lead single 'I hope you're happy' and every song on the CD is a home run. I really must stress that I was expecting the whole album to be like that one track and it wasn't. I mean I was floored when the pace picked up and I heard the full range of what this band is capable of. Here I bought an album for one song not expecting much and I am happy to say I really love EVERY track! Five stars. This is what rock and roll is all about.

La presentaciรณn del vinilo doble y en gatefold estรก muy padre solo que trae dos saltos en la primera canciรณn, el resto del disco se escucha bien.

The first album since their 2006 release of "foiled" that I fell in love with first listen. There is heavy synthesizer usage on the album and it will be interesting to see how they implement that into the love shows. There's not a track on the album I don't care for.
