Black, Medium Tip Generic Refills, Livescribe Echo/Echo 2-Compatible Ballpoint Pen Refills. Smooth-Writing, Premium German Ink.

I have been ordering from amazon the original Livescribe ink refills since 2009. Just now checked my order history and have order 9 total so far. But unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated over time. Not sure if it's because these inks have dried sitting in the warehouse. But for the one I ordered in Nov 2013, each ink could not even give me 5 pages worth of smooth writing and the ink would come out intermittently. Then I stumbled upon these generic ones. Seeing the positive reviews and the Seller actually answered reviews / comments about the guarantee, and also the fact that they are only a little more than than original ones, I went ahead and ordered a Black ink refile and a Blue ink refill. I couldn't be happier. First I tried each ink when I got them to make sure each wrote smoothly. Now I have just finished using the first Black ink refill and it gave me a total of 52 pages of writing on an A5 Notebook. Yes, the other comments about the ink seems a bit "loose" is true but it doesn't bother me. The ink come out smoothly and at at the 52nd page of writing before the ink finally ran out, it was still writing as smoothly as the first day I used it and the ink stroke is as dark and thick as before. From now on, I'm sticking with these generic refills - who says generic is not as good as the name brands?

I had to write a review because I saw so many negative reviews. Im a student and use my livescribe pen for at least 9 hours a week, if not more. So I get good use out of it. When I was using the livescribe refills I was lucky to get a few weeks out of the refills. I've been getting about double the time out of these generic refills. That's incredible to me. Also with the livescribe refills I would always have problems and the ink would never flow normally. I would be mid lecture trying to get my pen to work! So frustrating! And if I didn't have a refill on me, then I was screwed. Well no more of that with the generic refills!! As I said I haven't once had a problem with the generics running out until the end of the refill. (See photo, ink is still pretty dark right up until it ran out) Do I wish is lasted longer? Of course! But this is WAY better then the alternative and lasts A LOT longer as I said. I plan to buy the fine tips in hopes they will last a little longer and of course write thinner. I don't use this for everyday activities, I use this for recorded lectures and note taking. A big thanks to the creator!! One less small thing to drive me nuts!!

Works and fits perfectly in my Livescribe Echo smart pen.

I have an older LiveScribe MemoQ pen. These refills are longer than the original ones. As a result, the refill cannot be retracted. That does not stop me from using the pen, however. So far, writing is smooth, and I like the bonus refills that are a purplish color. They took a LONG time to get to me. Overall, I am liking what I got.

This is way better than the livescribe brand. Eyes VERY smooth! I initially put in one refill and it just kept falling out, but I put in a different refill and it stayed in. It is perfect!

You will not be sorry if you buy these refills for Livescribe pen. I have an older model, and have been suffering through the oem ink refills for all this time, not knowing there was something better. They are smooth, they don't hiccup when writing.. so no more blank areas where the ink didn't show.. and no more scratching my pen to figure out where it is. They only question I have is this.. Why didn't Livescribe use this kind of refill?

1 of the ink cartridges was dried out when it arrived ... only enough usable ink for a few minutes. otherwise the other 4 were fine (so far).

Overall I am not thrilled with Livescribe pen simply because ballpoints do not write nearly as smoothly as other pens. I hate the pressure that I end up applying to write with these. That said, this product is just as good as the name brand, and might write even better. Save the $$ and buy these for sure.
