My key requirements were: - it should be compact and portable - images should be fairly detailed and high quality - easy to set up and use I'm given to understand that it's probably not great at capturing images of deep space objects like faraway stars and nebulae due to its aperture and focal length, it does a pretty good job when it comes to objects in the solar system. I used regular batteries and after a couple of uses, the behaviour was erratic and annoying. It just goes into a re-scanning mode every few seconds and swings/plunges indefinitely on its own accord, wasting more battery charge. Best to get an power adaptor or powertank, which are pricey but necessary. I'm yet to explore all the functions like SkyAling, but so far, looks promising.
