This Testors enamel paint set is excellent for model building and hobby projects. The color variety in this promotional set provides great value and covers most basic painting needs. The enamel formula provides smooth coverage with a professional finish. Each bottle has good consistency and the paint flows evenly without streaking. The colors are vibrant and true to what's shown on the bottles. Dries to a durable, glossy finish that resists chipping. Perfect for plastic models, miniatures, and craft projects. These Testors enamel paints are the same ones I used to buy for a quarter a bottle back in the '70s. Except for the price, they are the same quality as they always were. Now that acrylic paints have largely replaced solvent based paints, it's harder than ever to find these. The value pack assortments are definitely the way to go. My only gripe is that they come with a tiny little bottle of thinner. You need to use this thinner for cleaning brushes, as ordinary mineral spirits won't cut it. I've never tried lacquer thinner, but that could be an affordable option. Regardless, these are the paints I prefer. The flat colors have the best flow, but do best with multiple coats. Gloss colors are thick and very shiny, drying to a hard enamel. Forget about airbrushing with these, this is old school crafting paint. If you want super detail and layered effects on Minifigures, consider acrylics. If you want to paint metal toy soldiers, these work great.

I love these little bottles of enamel paint. They are great for painting other things beside plastic models. I use mine to touch up or paint 100+ year old cast iron toys, trivits and wooden signs. The uses are almost endless and being enamel, the paint is way more durable than acrylic paint.
