U.S. Solid Motorized Ball Valve- 1/4" NSF Certified 304SS Ball Valve with Full Port, 9-24V AC/DC and 2 Wire Auto Return Setup

I needed to automate the flush valve our our sediment filter, to open for one minute once a week. Since there was a sprinkler timer nearby I needed a value that was energized to open and automatically closes when deenergized. And because of the large amount of sediment in the flush water I needed a ball valve instead of a solenoid valve. So this particular valve is perfect. I opens quickly when actuated from a standard sprinkler controller, and closes reliably when the sprinkler controller removes power. It has standard 1/2" pipe threads and installs easily. It's worth noting that this valve does not have a way to manually activate it, but I can use the manual mode of the sprinkler controller for that. It's only been installed a few weeks, but so far it's running perfectly.

Installed this valve in my home automation setup, and it's been working flawlessly. The auto-return feature is great—when the power cuts, it closes automatically, which adds peace of mind. I bought this 1/4" NPT motorized valve as a backup for 2 identical valves that I installed over 2 years ago. They are still working so this one is sitting on the shelf "just in case." I installed this as a soap valve on my pressure washer along with a wireless remote that I also purchased from Amazon. This keeps me from having to walk to my pressure washer to turn the soap on or off. I can just pull the remote out of my pocket and press the button. The valve opens when you apply 12v dc. It automatically closes when you turn the 12v dc off. I do flush the valve with clear water after I use it so it should keep working for many years to come.

Nice for the price. Much less cost than dedicated water main shut-off valves with a Zigbee or Z-Wave automation interface. You will need a power pack to maintain current to this valve and keep it open. Purchase that separately plus any power switch control that you will have the power pack plugged into for your home automation. Plan to use this valve for emergency water main shut-off during a power outage, flood sensor triggered in the house or garage, or during an earthquake. My water pipes are embedded in my floor cement slab, so I am anticipating the possibility of a break if we have a severe earthquake someday here in Southern California. This valve will shut off through my home automation or security system when a vibration from an earthquake is detected, or one of my five water flood sensors are triggered from my security system. During a normal infrequent power outage I will need to have a 12 VDC battery to open the valve. This valve uses very little current once it is open to maintain the 'Open' state, but it will not remain open without power being applied, nor does this valve have a manual override to open it. You much apply power to it. It does operate with between 9VDC and 24VDC so you could probably open it with a 9VDC battery if need be in an emergency. A small 12VDC gel battery which is maintained by a small battery maintainer solar panel could also be used along with a manual switch to apply the DC power if power is lost to the wall outlet for the power pack. Then manual operation of the valve could be possible without the home automation or outlet power working.

I've had about 5 of these pumping antifreeze for years. Thousands and thousands of gallons without fail. This will be the first replacement, and it isn't really even the fault of the valve. They have an issue with water intrusion if used in open air, it may take 5 years but it will happen. Solution? Drill a tint hole under the motor to allow any water to escape. Also, seal the top with a tiny bead of RTV. If you do that there is no reason this valve left outside, shouldn't last 10yrs+.

I have a few of these motorized ball valves (3/4", stainless steel, 2-wire auto-return version). The first failure occurred today (the valve is stuck in the open position even when the power is removed) and this was purchased only 6 months ago in April. I am using these to water the yard so they have very minimal on/off cycles and should have lasted far longer than 6 months. According to the product page these are rated for "80,000-100,000 cycles." The product page also links to the US Solid store at the top, but the right hand side says that these are actually sold by "The highest quality shop". When these are working, they work well. 6 months is way too short for something used well below it's rated lifecycle to fail, especially with how much each of these cost. I have sent the seller a message asking for warranty replacement and will update this if they respond. Update: Seller promptly responded to my message and is sending a replacement for the valve that prematurely failed.

Easy installation. Have had for about six months and worked as it should. I am pleased for the value and price.

Connected to a 24 VDC power supply. Works exactly as described. The cycle time in either direction is right at 3 seconds. I haven't tested it for leakage yet, but I will provide an update if it does not perform as expected. Good value!

Works great, have it hooked up to the main line Inside going to my underground sprinklers, so water pressure is not always on the outside zone valves. It's hooked up to the Master Valve out or pump 24 volt AC on the controller, When any zone is called for watering, it will open the Main motorized Ball Valve.

Works as advertised, doesnt come with instructions on how to setup, i used it for a chemical remote bypass and hooked up a remote switch, a fuse box and a battery to it. Works great. Hopefully chemical can pass through it!
