Baguazhang: Theory and Applications

Obviously this instructor knows his craft. This is only for those who are serious. This DVD is appropriatefor those who wish to put in 1-2 years of "home work" involving chin-na. Most applicable to free style/folk stylewrestling/ Baqua zhang. Perhaps Dr. Yang Jwing-ming disputes my opinion.!!!!!

The new edition is a significant improvement over earlier additions with the text clearly following the figures which makes it much easier to follow the instructions. This book by Grandmaster Liang, Shou-yu and co-author Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming is an excellent text on Bagua Zhang. It provides excellent instructions for the reader and student beginning in Bagua Zhang as well as a text for students actively participating in Bagua Zhang classes with a certified master instructor or at Granmaster Liang's school in Vancouver B.C. The introductory chapters provide excellent background information as well. A significant asset for anyone's martial arts library. Highly recommended.

This book is the Bagua-Bible. It is the most helpful martial arts book I've ever read. In fact, I carry it around with me and it is beginning to look a bit worn. I have come to consider it my "textbook" for training in Baguazhang. I love how the book traces the history of the art, goes through each Bagua song and finally addresses body-conditioning an application.

Well written and interesting. It has helped my Baguazhang immensely. I recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their QiGong and BaGuaZhang. As well as learn about this amazing art.

This comment applies only to the Kindle edition. The book is a wonderful, erudite exposition of Baguazhang. In the Kindle edition the illustrations are often cut off as if they don't fit the frame.

I have juststarted reading this book and am already very impressed with both the completeness of the exposition of the theory of Baguazhang, and the clarity with which it is written. I see no reason why the quality should falter and am loking forward to having a thorough grounding in this compeling subject.

This is an very powerful book. From the history, to the concept and theories. But it's a book for the serious minded Martial Artist only. Not for the common practioner who just want to go through motion and movement.

Bought another copy as original got damaged.Really interesting read, for Baguazhang chapter 2.1 is the most relevant and accurate.

Bible of Baguazhang. Goes into history, details of qigong, 8 palms and their applications. Very comprehensive.

Good book, but don’t buy the kindle version. Almost impossible to read or follow the instructions.

Das in dem Buch vorgestellte Kraft- und Balance-Training mit Ziegelsteinen ist für Anfänger vielleicht etwas zu schwierig. Ich finde es aber wichtig auch einmal darauf einzugehen das ein Kung Fu Kämpfer (egal welchen Stil er betreibt) einfach körperliche Kraft braucht. Dies ist kein Film es ist Realität. Ein Index mit einer Erklärung der im Buch verwendeten chinesischen Begriffe rundet das Werk ab.Dieses Buch ist wirklich für jeden geeignet der sich für Bagua Zhang interessiert. Für den Anfänger enthält es ein vollständiges Trainingsprogramm, für den Fortgeschritttenen gibt es Philosophie und kämpferische Anwendungen aus einem Guss.
