Rubs in with no white cast (though i am quite pale so ymmv). Effective, definitely emollient but not sticky once absorbed. I personally love the light herbal, almost medicinal, smell of the product, though others may not (i'm very sensitive to scents/fragrances, so almost anything i can smell without getting a headache is a personal win). I could see not wanting to bring this anywhere sandy as it's an open tin.
