While I can use high quality zip lock bags to cook sous vide, it's a lot more reassuring to cook with vacuum bags, as you can clearly see if there is a leak, or not. This is especially true for food that requires long cook times, such as ribs. So far, all of the seals from this machine have been perfect. I learned from my previous vacuum sealer -- you have to make sure you line up the bag properly and make sure it straight and without any creases. This machine is fast and efficient. It's cheaper than the more expensive brands, but I meets all of needs.Clean up with this machine is pretty easy. Normally, clean up is not even required, but if you put too much liquid in the bag, such as sauces or oil, some may get on the machine. Simply wipe it up and you are good to go. The sample bags and roll come in handy if you didn't buy any yet, but you will soon need to order them if you are going to cook sous vide everyday, like me. The bags are more convenient, since you only have to seal one side, but the bags are more flexible if you want to vacuum something bigger or longer.There's also a suction hose that comes with this model that allows you to get a vacuum from your containers. I don't have a container to try with, but the hose fits nicely on the device end. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great vacuum sealer! *by M***K on July 21, 2019* My boyfriend and I are putting this vacuum sealer to the ultimate test as we dehydrate and vacuum seal food before we leave for the Long Trail this fall. Overall this is a really wonderful product and it's fun to use, too! This is the first time either of us have used a vacuum sealer so we have nothing to compare it to, but it's getting the job done and we've used it several times already. Full disclosure, we've only used it for about a month. Sometimes the air doesn't always get sucked out of the bag completely so I have to rearrange it until the air can get sucked out, which is a super easy fix. We also found out that the bags that came with the sealer couldn't hold up to ramen noodles without a hole poking through so we try not to vacuum seal any food with hard edges. Other than that we are very happy with this purchase! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Vacuum for the price *by L***8 on April 2, 2019* A bit difficult to learn how to use. Seller offered printed instructions which conflicted with the manufacturer instructions in regard to locking the machine while vacuuming. Printed instructions stated NOT to lock the machine because it would cause the gaskets to wear out quicker but the vacuum was much slower and tedious as compared to locking and seeing the vacuum process complete very quickly. Rolls for bagging were easy to use and the sealing process was very easy. The only difficulty was ensuring that the air was fully eliminated from the bag and the only way to do this properly was to lock the machine each time. Seems to be a handy machine for the price.
