You would have to drill the rivets out to be able to remove the led panel and put something else there like an adhesive led strip, which you would have to wire yourself. If I had paid more for it I would be upset with how quickly it broke. Everything is great for the money. It is small, yes, it isn't perfect, but for less than $15, it's great. I really liked the little storage bag it came with. However, after a couple of months and only a few uses in that time, the piece where the cord connects to the lights snapped off. Knowing this, perhaps if one were to be very careful when plugging in the cable, this wouldn't be an issue. If I could do it again, I might put a piece of tape on it to give it a little more stability.
