TY** A: I did an old book case of my grandmother's four or five years ago. I totally covered it in a pewter/silver color. A year or so later I rubbed a Grecian gold over it, just to mute and soften it. When it is fresh and if you rubbed it firmly, a film of it would come off visible on white cloth. I used it immediately with books and objects on top of the case. It was never a problem. I just tested it by rubbing firmly with a paper napkin and nothing rubs off. I believe it will continue to cure over the years.
