What I didn’t expect was the immediate personality shift into: “I am now a person who writes things down deliberately.” First impression: Very sleek, very “professional adult who owns matching luggage and probably knows what a pension is.” The box alone feels like it should be opened in a boardroom. Inside, you get: * A fountain pen (for thoughts you want to feel important) * A ballpoint pen (for everything else you will inevitably forget five minutes later) * A general sense that your handwriting should improve immediately The fountain pen writes with that slightly dramatic, smooth ink flow that makes even grocery lists feel like literature. The ballpoint is more practical, but still far above “borrowed-from-a-supermarket-drawer” energy. Realistically: * The set is positioned as a classic executive-style gift with a solid metal build and Parker’s signature arrow clip design * It’s designed for everyday reliability, with a fountain pen nib and smooth Quinkflow ballpoint refill for consistent writing * It comes properly boxed, very much in “this is a meaningful gift” territory rather than “I panic-bought this in Tesco” territory What I didn’t expect: * I now write slower on purpose, like my thoughts deserve processing time * Signing receipts feels unnecessarily ceremonial * I’ve started judging other pens in public, silently, like a Victorian scholar with opinions Pros: * Genuinely smooth writing experience (both pens behave like they’ve had manners training) * Nice weight and balance—feels substantial without being heavy * Fountain + ballpoint combo covers every writing situation imaginable * Excellent “gift impact” level—looks far more expensive than it feels to use Cons: * You will start overthinking your handwriting immediately * People will assume you’re either organised or about to resign dramatically * You may develop opinions about ink flow, which is a slippery slope Final verdict: 10/10 gift set. 10/10 accidental personality upgrade. 0/10 chance of ever going back to “cheap pen from a drawer” life without feeling emotionally downgraded.

This has become my everyday pen. Very good quality, lovely weight and consistent, even flow. Overall a very nice pen to use.

Excellent pen. Beautiful colour, nice to hold and writes nicely - even for a leftie like me! Well happy! Couldn’t give five stars because I also bought a Waterman Expert at same time which writes beautifully - but then it did cost more!

A beautifully designed pen that feels good in hand, writes smoothly and has great capacity. Always draws (no pun intended) admiring comments from others. I really enjoy using it.

Outstanding pen. Great look and understated style. Feels solid in the hand. Fine nib is perfect for writing clearly and precisely. Lost my first one and bought the exact same one again because I liked it so much.
