Dragonbreath #7: When Fairies Go Bad

Love the series. My son is 9 years old. He says "It is funny, cool & an awesome book". Can't wait for the newest book to come out in January 2013. To the parents: If you want your son to read books - get this series. During the summer he started the series. I couldn't keep up with him in getting the next book for him to read. When he entered the 3rd grade this Fall, he was in the top reading group in his class. I truly believe it was because the series was so engaging that the computer games took a back seat to reading. Don't hesitate to get this series. A happy Mom.

I bought this for my son, 9 years old at the time, and he devoured the book! It's an adventurous read with colorful characters and doesn't weigh them down like a heavier book would (like Harry Potter). Don't let the titles scare you away - these books are fun and harmless and often show concepts of true friendship. He loved the first one so much, we bought another and then the whole series! You don't have to read them in order or one to understand the second (etc) It helps, but not necessary.

My 8 year old son absolutely LOVES these books and he chose one of them for a book report at school. I like them because the books are part comic and part novel so I don't feel like he's only reading a comic strip book. We usually get ours from the library but needed a copy of the book to have on an extended basis for the report. My son has read and re read almost the entire series!

We've read every Dragonbreath book. My son loves them and is always pestering me about when the next one is coming out. Frankly, I love them, too. They manage to be simple and funny while being a little bit subversive and sly all at once. Definitely, two claws up!

Sure I read this in an hour, but I've read through the entire series so my son and I can talk about the books (and he loves the idea of introducing me to the books.) I've enjoyed the books and they are a quick enough read that it is not a chore to read them. My son likes the books too and he's lent them out to friends.

My 7 year old advanced reader has read every single book in this series and giggles along the way. My nine year old has read them and enjoyed them as well. Nice way to get them to read while they actually enjoy it. Ideal for advanced readers that are struggling with chapter books. These books have advanced vocabulary but the storyline and images help keep their attention.

The Dragonbreath Series involves a cast of reptilian (and sometimes amphibian) characters who experience typical life challenges for juvenile and middle grade readers. Challenges and issues (friendship and loyalty) are flavoured with a little fantasy (fairy kidnapping) to make the books more engaging. Graphic images help the reading interest along. These are great books for those boys in grades 3 to 6, who aren't reading at grade level or who still have a younger boy sense of humour.
