It's heavy in the nose when carrying it by the handle as the center of balance is far forward. It also rides high in the water and is subject to wind. It is stable though and easily maneuvered with a simple shift in weight. I've never fallen and I like the maneuverability but hate that I can't load it up myself. It's incredibly easy to get up and down on it's just getting it to the lake that's a pain. honestly, if you're tall and strong, it's a good board. Little women might want something lighter. When I ordered it was listed as 25 pounds shipping weight. It's 50 now. I'm a little sad about the weight so might get something lighter I can load on my own for solo paddles. It is very stable, tracks well through the water, and it s easy to move around out of the water too. I am a 5'5" women and can easily carry this board. It is very light but it also is very long so it may be difficult for some to carry. I have taken little ones on the board with me from 2 to 7 years old with out problems.
