Can you do a 200mm and 600mm scale encoder? (going on a vintage South Bend 9" bench lathe)

You can use it anything you can properly mount it to. On my application the scales are longer than I needed but you don’t need to use the entire scale it runs accurately no mater how much of the scale you use. I would not use one that is too short if you run into the end you could damage it.

Can I get a 2 axis setup one is 45 inch workable area the other axis 12" let me know how to proceed and mow much.

How tall are the scales and the cover. I have a 10" lathe with 7.5" Y travel and 32" X travel.

The scales are about 1-1/4" high and 13/16" wide. The cover is about 2-1/2" high and 1-1/2" wide. It is difficult to measure because of the way I mounted them.

Can you produce longer length scales? I am looking for a 1500mm length.
