Review: Brings grilling on Go-Anywhere grill to next level. - Love these grated. Way too expensive but got as a gift. Grilling is a lot superior to the stock wire grid. Seasoned well it’s easy to clean, and for smaller cuts or a single burger can use just one half. A little tricky to remove hot grates or place cold ones. Used to sell a lifted but it’s no longer available. I use sturdy tongs and slide one side of tongs between grid bars and carefully pick up that way. Was going to use slip joint pliers but not effecting and scratched grid.

Excellent upgrade over the stock/thin grill grates that come with the grill. Very high quality! A common problem with the Gas Go Anywhere grills is they cook unevenly - but I've discovered these grates closely balances out the heat more equally (not quite 100%, but fairly close). Steaks come out with nice grill marks. The only downside is that it adds quite a bit of additional weight when transporting, but that's the trade off for having great quality grates.

Preliminary Review: A significant upgrade for the GA.
I've just used them for the first time, and find them a big upgrade. First, because they're in two pieces, you can take one side to tend the coals. (Cutting the original grate in half is a popular GA 'hack," that's why.) That alone would make it a big upgrade. You can even leave one of the two grills off and slide the other to a better spot over the coals. So in general, it's an upgrade just for that bit of convenience. The grates are pre-seasoned easy to clean. They also pack and store easily within the GA, unlike the original grate can, which only be stored in its working position, so if you want to store things within the grill, it interferes. Then there's the ultimate question: How does it cook? My first time out with it I grilled some salmon and some eggplant. Great grill marks, much better than on the original grate (which isn't terrible by any means). I've read at least one review that complained the grate should run the short way, "vertically," instead of the long way, "horizontally," because people normally slide a spatula from front to back. I didn't find that to be a problem, but it did take an adjustment. Really happy with these so far. Unfortunately the grate lifter is out of stock and it seems like an extremely important tool to have. Handling these hot grates with a barbecue tongs is problematic. BTW looking forward to getting the griddle one of these days.

Swift delivery, like the heft and feel of the grates, but concerned about quality of workmanship and long-term durability
Ordered on May 27th. Arrived June 1st. Upon opening package in which the grates were shipped, noticed several things both good and bad. The good? Hefty, solid feel. Hopefully will get a chance to use the new grates this weekend to see how much better they help cook food compared to the thin wire grate that came with my Weber Go Anywhere charcoal grill. The bad? Immediately noticed two issues. The pre-seasoned coating on the grate does not appear to be as good as the pre-seasoned coating on my Lodge cast iron cookware. In the clear plastic film in which the grates are wrapped/packaged, can see lots of small black flecks which appear to be the seasoning flaking off in assorted places. Before I use this grate, I will need to brush it clear of these loose particulates and then apply a new coat of seasoning so that nothing flakes off into the food when I'm actually cooking on these grates. But what really has me concerned even before I use the grates is that one part appears to have what can best be described as a "void" or gap where the cast iron is missing. It's not a huge void and is only limited to one part of the grill. I suspect there may have been a defect in the mold. However, my concern is that the missing iron creates a vacuum which compromises the structural integrity of the grate in that area. Not sure if that part of the grate will snap apart over time or if my fears are unfounded. I suppose only time and repeated use of the grates will reveal whether it's only a cosmetic defect or a more serious structural defect. Simple verdict: I like what I see but am concerned about long-term durability and the quality of the workmanship on the product. Won't pass further judgment until after I've used the grate a couple of times. If needed, I'll come back to either edit my original review or add new concerns/issues as they may arise.

Great grill marks!
These grates are awesome. They leave beautiful grill marks on the food and we’re nonstick after I seasoned them with bacon grease. Also, because the grates come in two pieces, I can store my Weber chimney charcoal starter (compact) in the grill along with other accessories. These grates seem like they will last forever if you keep them seasoned and dry. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Awesome Grill marks!
Craycort's Go Grate's are fantastic. They are a perfect fit for the Weber Go Anywhere Grill. They turn the grill into a large hibachi type grill, just perfect for skewers, steaks or burgers, with the benefit of having a lid for perfect control of the cooking environment. The cast iron is pre-seasoned and pretty much non stick with the first use. It creates fantastic grill marks and provides for a nice seared meat flavor. I pre-heat the grates on my charcoal chimney for the last 10 minutes while the charcoal is getting ready to use. This way you don't need extra pre-heating time once you place the hot charcoal into the grill. The grates get really hot so I recommend you get the grate lifter offered by Craycort to move them around. As with any cast iron, keep it clean and oiled after each use to prevent rust and it should last a lifetime. Highly recommended.

11/10. Thick, high quality cast iron.
DUDE. I friggin love this thing. Be sure you buy the Craycort cast iron grate moving wand thing... I use that on my big grill too. No more ruining tongs trying to move grates. Thick cast iron... pre-seasoned... it's lased me about a year now with zero signs of rust, and I don't even take care of my cast iron like I should. Make sure you put the flat side up for more contact with your food... better carmalization, better flavor. Everyone gets that wrong. 11/10

Heavy duty
High quality cast iron grates. Get them on the Weber GA, high heat and take half an onion stab it with a fork and rub the onion onto the grates will create a patina on them and they'll be non stick.

Fits perfectly but expensive
Fits perfectly, makes very nice grill marks. The only downside: very expensive for what they actually are, but still very satisfied.

Luxe Upgrade
They are great looking and nest well inside the Go Anywhere charcoal grill. They come with some pre-seasoning. Do some extra seasoning. The grates will rust if you don't add some season. Taking care of them can be a bit fiddly. This is a luxury upgrade that adds weight & stability to the cooking surface, heat retention, and aesthetic.

This make the Go-Anywhere the perfect little grill.
Simply wonderful. Quality bit of kit, fits the grill perfectly and splits in two for easy storing inside the Go-Anywhere. I can fit these, a potable chimney starter, tongs and spatula, smoking chips, 3 lots of lump wood, some rub, fire lighters and a wire brush all inside the Weber for a handy all-in-one Go-Anywhere grill! Fantastic. Gives great sear marks on your meat. I washed and seasoned them before use, probably didn't need to but you never know. This make the Go-Anywhere the perfect little grill.
