How does this perform when needing to mix dry ingredients before adding (e.g. baking powder, sugar, salt, flour, etc.)?

I found that this mixes the ingredients well. I usually weigh and measure on the counter and fill the the dispenser prior to placing it in the attachment. I don’t have the ingredients all over the counter from adding them too quickly. Batters are noticeably smoother and more consistent.

I am concerned with over mixing delicate cakes while this sifts. Can you stop the paddle mixer, sift it all into the bowl, then resume mixing?

As with all Kitchen attachments the paddle would still mix ingredients if attached. This item does use the lowest setting 1 so I don’t think it would be a problem. I’m not familiar with your recipe so perhaps it may be best to unattach the paddle, sift, and reattach paddle. If you generally add ingredients from your recipe with a paddle then you won’t have any issues.

I have the mini kitchenaid mixer ksm3311x. it sounds like it will fit all stand up kitchenaid mixers. will the sifter attachment work on my mixer?

Yes it will work on the mini. It will also work on old KitchenAid. Dating back to 1919.

Will this fit my ka artisan stand mixer, ksm150pswh ?

On the front of the mixer is a silver button that unscrews. The attachment screws in after the button is taken off.
