Makes the 8bitdo Arcade Stick work much better
Installed the octagonal restrictor plate in an 8bitdo Arcade Stick. This is *exactly* what it should have shipped with instead of the square restrictor plate. With it in place, the arcade stick not only feels better, but it's also much easier to pull off complicated joystick inputs. It no longer rests too deeply in diagonal corners. For anyone that finds the 8bitdo Arcade Stick doesn't feel right, give this a try.

A dream for any serious fighter!
There are purists who would disagree with me, but I swear up and down with the awesomeness of this product. This Octagonal Restrictor Gate is a MUST for my style of fighting gameplay. Most SANWA joysticks come with a Square Restrictor Gate in place, as that is the standard for Japanese arcade machines. Now, while I can play with the Square, I much prefer the Octagon. I find it much more suited for my style of play in fighting games, such as STREET FIGHTER, KING OF FIGHTERS, and MARVEL VS. CAPCOM. As a “Shoto” player (one who uses Ken, Ryu, and Akuma) this gate allows me to execute my special moves with precision and ease. With this, you’ll be pulling off “Sho Ryu Ken’s” and “Hadou Kens” like Daigo Umehara! It’s also well suited for fighters who are used to a lot of 360 degree movements, like Zangief. This Restrictor Gate is designed by SANWA, for SANWA joysticks. If you are customizing your own arcade-style stick, or you have your own customs arcade system, this simple device makes fighting games a breeze! For me, I can’t imagine not playing fighting games without the Octagonal Restrictor Gate in place. This makes a huge difference in my gameplay, and I highly recommend it for any serious fighting game fan.

Perfect fit for 8BitDo joystick
I replaced the 8BitDo Arcade Stick square gate with this. It was an almost effortless update that completely changed my experience with the controller for the better. I highly recommend! (BTW the picture also shows a 2lb spring that I also used to update the controller and is not included)

As expected
Exactly what I was expecting, a must if you own a fight stick

Sanwa genuine branded parts are always perfect
Using original Sanwa branded parts and not aftermarket knockoffs that look identical is a really big deal, especially these gates and restrictors. I know from experience and after receiving these can confirm our sticks are perfect.

Not for all fight sticks, especially cheaper ones
If you are buying for a hori fight stick mini, DON'T!! The internals do not accept the gate, the mini has a cheaper square gat setup. If you want this to fit you have to either replace the whole stick or Dremel the original gate to fit the center ring. Then Dremel the ring to fit the switches to put it back together. After all that, the ring works (sorta, let's you roll the stick now) but takes alot to get there. If you don't measure twice before cutting you will ruin both and won't have anything. The star rating is because of the product itself, not for the fitting all fightsticks because it doesn't fit all. A higher quality Sanwa stick this will fit and won't have to cut anything. I am sure the product does what it's supposed to, if it is matched with the proper stick. Cheap fightsticks this won't work with. I suggest opening your fight stick and see what kind of gate and stick you have before ordering, which I did not do, hence the buying a part I had to make fit.

Way better
Perfect , super easy installation. Fits better than older versions . Older ones had a tendency to be a little difficult to get off and on . The cut outs for the tabs are much better . 5 arcade sticks total , will prolly replace all the old ones eventually whenever I do stick maintenance.

Exactly what you expect to get--which is great!
Exactly what is advertised, installs just as easily as you'd think, and does what it's supposed to. With about five years of experience using a square gate, I wanted to give one of these a try, and I'm not sure which I prefer at this point. Since there are more corners, they end up feeling less secure than on a square gate, as in, it's easier to roll around between corners. For dragon punch motions (forward > down > down-forward), I feel like the square gate gives better feedback, but the octagonal gate feels much better for large rolling motions like 360's, which have always been an issue for me on stick. I'm also liking the feel of the octagonal gate for assorted games with octagonal movement options--platformers, shmups, and what have you. Honestly, if you're comfortable with opening up your arcade stick (and if you're using one of the new MadCatz TE2 variants, how could you not be? Hell, there's even room to leave the other gate in there for on-the-fly switching), I see no reason not to give an octa-gate a try--worst case scenario is you don't care for it and are down a few bucks. Speaking of price, you can theoretically get these cheaper elsewhere, but if you're in Canada, ordering from Canadian Joysticks or Focus Attack or whatever is going to run you enough shipping that it'll end up at the same price or more than buying from Amazon would anyhow.

Awesome!!
Great quality! If you are Shoto (Ryu, Ken or Akuma etc.) Player like me, you need to buy this asap. It'll be much easier to perform execution for these type of characters. Just go for it.

Super recomendado !
