No-compromise solution for front+rear dash cam and retrofitting digital rear view mirror capability
I've had multiple Pelsee mirror dash cams, from P10 Plus to P12 Pro, as well as S12 Pro, and the P12 Pro Max is the nicest one, accurately reflected by the premium price point. I have a modified Jeep Wrangler. The factory rear view mirror was useless, to say the least, because of the oversized spare tire consuming majority of the rear windshield. Digital rear view mirror displays like this one helps immensely. They have such wide viewing angle that they significantly reduce blindspots. The first unit I installed for the Wrangler was the P10 Plus, and after a short period time I had them installed on all of my family's vehicles because of how beneficial they are. P12 Pro Max's front camera has the 2nd gen Starvis sensor, while the rear camera has the 1st gen. The front video feed is great, and it's also nice to have the rear video feed in full color even during nighttime, as opposed to grayscale of the older models. The rear camera of the P12 Pro Max is slightly larger and heavier than the rear cameras of other Pelsee models without Starvis sensor. While it would be nice to have Starvis 2 in the rear camera as well, the P12 Pro Max's overall offering is strong enough that it really doesn't matter. And then there are the potential drawbacks to consider, due to increased power and heat dissipation requirement for Starvis 2 compared to Starvis 1 from the supporting system (e.g. - processor, power management, etc), which may end up in rear camera module becoming even larger. P12 Pro Max isn't compatible with bracket mounts for the old P12 Pro. I suspect part of the reason is because the P12 Pro Max has a heatsink plate on the back. You can see it in the item photo--it's the silver plate. That plate gets pretty toasty when the unit is running, especially on a sunny day without air conditioning on. While I didn't have any issue with it overheating, I did eventually perform a proactive modification by using thermal glue to put 2280 SSD heatsink on it, as well as putting a 40x40x20mm fan on the bracket pulling air out, to give it some additional heat dissipation. The included rear camera cable is 33 feet in length. P12 Pro Max uses a USB-C to 6-pin video cable, as opposed to the 3.5mm to 4-pin video cable of the older model. This means you can use an appropriate USB-C extension cable to lengthen the wiring if you need to, which simplifies the installation quite a bit if you have a larger vehicle such as an RV. I tried this using a 10-foot USB-C extension cable that can carry both power and data, and it worked fine. If that's not your cup of tea, then you can get the 6-pin extension cable such as ASIN B07B6LBGZ9. The box comes with two different methods of powering the unit--the 12V cigarette port to 5V USB-C, as well as the OBD2 to 5V USB-C. You can opt to not use either of them. The included OBD2 kit provides 5VDC-3A output, with the unit's power input requirement being 5VDC-2.5A. I was able to use one of the Quick Charge port of the 12V cigarette port splitter to power the unit. The OBD2 kit is apparently meant to be used if you want to enable parking mode, but the caveat is that some vehicles (including the ones I own) don't keep their OBD2 port live upon entering deep sleep. You should also be able to use one of those converters that plugs into auto-dimming rear view mirror connector to convert it into a USB port to power this, provided it meets the power requirement, if you want a clean install and plan on getting rid of the factory rear view mirror. If you want a package that combines both digital rear view mirror capability and excellent front and rear low-light capability, then the P12 Pro Max is something you should consider.

Impressive responsiveness and image quality!
I'm so happy with this dash cam, easy 5 stars! Set up and installation was fairly easy, there's plenty of videos out there if you need help. The wiring just tucks up into the head liner and you plug in to your 12V accessory port, or the OBD port like I did for continuous power even when the car is off. I love that this package comes with an OBD adapter, many other dash cams don't! The screen size is bigger than a typical rear view mirror, but not obtrusive. Very responsive with no lagging. Just set up how you want it, then you literally don't need to touch it, it just works! You can have the digital display on all the time, or not at all. Mine is set to turn the display off after 1 minute of driving. But when the rear is fully loaded and I can't see out the mirror, I use the rear camera display so I can see despite all the cargo. In today's world, everyone should have a dash cam. With the super high resolution and continual recording, including footage lock capability, impact sensors, safety alerts, and night time security mode, you can rest assured that you'll have the footage you need for a police report, insurance claim, or even for your own. You can record audio, or turn it off if you want. Easily download the footage wirelessly, or with the included microSD card. I'm impressed with the night resolution, both front and rear, and the quality of the time lapse security footage. Even at night in the rain, the images were fairly clear. I had one minor issue with the rear image reversing itself at every start up. I contacted customer support and got an immediate response with an immediate software fix. I downloaded the update and installed it on the microSD card using a Chromebook (doesn't work on Mac). Now it's all set up exactly how I want it! Overall, this is a top buy, easily 5 stars. Very impressed with the quality of the hardware, the responsiveness of the display, the resolution of both cameras, and low light image quality. I can verify that this works in sub-zero temperatures with no problems!

Excellent mirror a definite must buy!
This Pro 12 mirror is insane I bought it the last day of November 2025, I have used this ever since I had a small issue with it turning on and off and I wrote to customer service and with in 2 hours I had a response from them customer service let me know about the new update and I did the update and it fixed it. This customer service is truly second to none I was shocked that I was actually emailing a real person instead of an Ai computer thank God. The product is really amazing so Cristal clear, the cameras are as clear as any 4k camera, the lane assist is always on point. The set up is easy it took me approximately an hour to install it. Very great experience I definitely will buy one for my wife’s car

Not ready for prime time
After 6 months I can safely say it's junk. It's plugged into the OBD port but never starts up on its own when I turn the truck on. So I have to push the button to boot it up, then 90% of the time it shuts right back down. I repeat that a few times until it stays on. Randomly while driving it will freeze and the screen is pixelated forcing a reboot while driving. Randomly the rear image is reversed so I have to go back to settings and change it back. Driving down smooth roads and it will say "an accident has been detected, recording locked". The rear blind spot detection will sometimes work, sometimes not. Even when the red/yellow/green boxes are shown around cars the measurements are absurd -- car right on my bumper at a red light, but it says 44ft behind me. The time lapse recording feature is a joke, even though I have all the settings dialed up to capture any activity. Overnight some bozo drilled into the fuel tank of my truck and the police asked for any footage. I pulled the card out since the wifi to app connection never works and the last time lapse recording was from 10 days ago. I thought I had a bad unit so Pelsee replaced the first one. Nope, exact same issues with the replacement. This thing has great video quality in daylight, obviously less so at night, but is buggy as hell. Spend up for a better brand.

Perfect (almost) starvis 2 mirror dashcam
I love this Pelsee p12 pro max with the starvis 2. I had teh previous Gen version of the p12 pro max and despite liking that one. This one improved on many aspects of the previous version. This starvis 2 of course have a superior night vision both front and back. I know that the front is the only starvis 2 and it is clearer and have better night vision than the rear camera but the back camera is not bad at all despite the lack of starvis 2 there. Unlike the previous Gen p12 pro max which the rear changes to black and white when there is very little light, this one stays full color. The 12 inch mirror makes it easy to see what is being recorded and really helps when you need to play back an event on the mirror itself. Only knock on it is that the mirror screen could be brighter make it easier to see on the funniest days although the current brightness makes it almost twice as viewable as the old model. There are smart functions that tracks cars distances and objects and lanes on the front camera but I rarely uses those after trying them a few times. The one smart function I like a lot was the one where it tells you that the car in front of you start moving in case you are not paying attention at a light or in a traffic jam. There is voice commands but I find that this is one part where this dashcam went backwards compared to the previous one. Most of the time it does not understand me where the older one have less issues with the same command. The wifi download and viewing functions works great and is pretty speedy downloading clips to your phone. I am keeping one star away until Pelsee makes a dashcam with starvis 2 on both front and back cameras but otherwise this is the best mirror dash cam I came across for now. It have already paid for itself in a car accident when a car hit me on the side and the video fro. This camera clearly showed that the other driver was at fault. Always have a dashcam in your car you would never know when you would really need it.

BEWARE!! Installation is a nightmare
BEWARE!!! Here is my letter to Pelsee I recently bought your Pelsee 4K+2.5K Mirror Dash Cam on Amazon and it has been a thoroughly frustrating experience. 1. In the description you do not state how long the cable is. This would be nice top know in advance of the purchase so you can make sure you have everything you need before beginning the install and then having to stop because the supplied cable is not long enough. 2. I have a mid sized truck with a shell on the back and I can't see anything through the standard mirror. I wanted a rear view camera so I can see my small ATV trailer when backing up. For my truck (I would bet that the majority of your potential customers are truck or RV owners. I don't see any need for your system in a passenger auto. In order to reach the top back of the shell where I want to mount the camera, I probably need another 8-10 feet of wire. How much does it cost you and take away from your profits to add another few feet of wire to your install kit???? I bet not as much as the frustration you cause for your customers who cannot complete the install with what you supply in the box. My guess is the extra wire might cost you $0.25. You could even charge an extra $5.00 for the extra cable and make an additional profit and I would be happy to pay it. 3. At the bottom of the Amazon sales page is shown additional accessories a customer might need. Shown there is a 4-pin, 33 ft extension cable for rearview backup camera. I mistakenly bought this since I figured you would not advertise an accessory that did not work with your product that I was purchasing. WRONG!!!I. It turns out that my camera system has a 6-pin wiring system. MAJOR BUMMER!!! 4. So I go to Amazon and there is no listing for a Pelsee 6-pin extension cable. I go to your website and the same thing, no listing. 5. At this point I have a $250 piece of junk that I cannot use, and if I by some miracle get an extension cable that works, I will have to have worked on the install and then reassemble every thing three (3) times. You guys are really on the ball!! Richard W UPDATE Kaycee at Pelsee contacted me after my review, and sent me a longer replacement cable to fix my issue. Kaycee has kept in touch with me a number of times to check on how the install was going and to offer any assistance needed. This is a new product for Pelsee and there have been some hiccups along the way. OVERALL, I NOW HAVE TO SAY THAT PELSEE CUSTOMER SUPPORT HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING!! They support their product, they stay in touch and do not ignore you, and after using their product for awhile, I think it is a quality device. The only things I might like to see in a future update is a higher brightness adjustment level on the display mirror - it can be a little difficult to see sometimes when there is a lot of glare from the sun, but adjusting the mirror position helps with that issue. I have a Tacoma with a camper shell and I tow a small ATV trailer sometimes. The trailer is too small to see in my side mirrors when backing up. I have backed up twice now (before getting the Pelsee mirror) and crunched the cargo box mounted on the front of the trailer ($500 replacement cost) when I jackknifed the trailer. I have not used the trailer since getting the Pelsee mirror (so I don't know if I can see the trailer well enough now), but a nice future feature update might be to be able to remotely adjust the camera view angle so you can look closely behind your vehicle when backing up a trailer and then change back to a distance view for normal driving. Overall a great and quality product! Thank you Pelsee and Kaycee

Excellent all around digital camera and mirror
I have a 12 passenger Sprinter van and seeing through the inside mirror is limited due to seats, passengers, and headrests. I Pelsee 4k Mirror dash cam eliminated that problem and provides a bright, clear view of what's behind me directly and a little to the sides. The front view or split view of front/back are cool and I can see that all angles are covered should there be an incident in traffic. Also, the front passenger can clearly see what's behind us as well, since the angle of the mirror doesn't matter. When turned off, it also provides a decent normal rear view mirror view with the reflective glass. The installation was simple and I just lifted the trim and inserted the wires to get where I needed them to go, including the power source conveniently plugged into the OBD port, avoiding wires to 12v plugs in more visible locations. I was worried about the length of the rearview camera cable to reach the back of my van and up to the roof, but it was easily long enough. It turns itself on and off, so I don't have to take that extra step. GPS info on the mirror is also nice. I'm very pleased with the system and would recommend it.

Nice camera
I have only had the camera for around a month now and really like it. There easy to set up. The appearance is good( looks like a rear view mirror). Easy to see out of when screen is off. Rear camera is nice and clear and picks up passing cars to let you know. If you hook it up to reverse lights it works as a second back up camera. Audio is clear and perfect. It has decent stability. I mean for it being attached to the mirror. It does have a little vibration to it. The direct connection cable is great for power. Easy to install with out going through the fuse box. Their customer service is great. Had a little hiccup and reached out by email and got a quick response. They also did a follow up email to make sure everything was going good.

High quality unit
So much easier to see behind you than a regular mirror! It works well in both day and night, great clarity. The unit itself feels really premium. Issues: - it was hard to position the camera facing up enough to use as a rearview mirror. Can be done, its just a bit annoying. If you just use the hinge, it will keep getting knocked into another position. Had to use some really thick double sided tape to lock it into the angle I want. - lots of glare if the sun is hitting wrong. I think a lower model that doesn't also function as a mirror when off might actually have been better. - not quite bright enough if its super sunny out and you also have sunglasses on. - takes a few seconds to start up whether I use the hardwire kit or not Despite these cons, I would still absolutely recommend this.

You got to have it!
I thought that my first Pelsee P12 Plus is good enough, but then when I read about the upgraded version, Pelsee P12 Pro Max, I was hesitant because it’s quite pricey, so I decided to go for it and I’m so glad i did and it’s worth it. The clarity of the front camera (4K) and the rear camera (2.5K) is just unbelievably sharp.. It’s also straight forward to install and connect all the wires, but I have to let the professional technician to connect the red wire to the backup light. It cost me $20. The big plus is the 160 degrees vision on the rear camera which is for me a good safety features that eliminates blind spots. Another feature that I love is driving at night, the front and rear vision is so sharp and even in pitch black, just the from the car's headlights, it illuminates the road and not grainy at all. If you’re looking for a high quality dash cam, this is it! I highly recommend it.

Outstanding Customer Support and Great Dash Cam Performance!

Excellent dash cam, Crystal clear night vision.
Been using the Pelsee P12 Pro Max on my 2020 Hyundai Elantra and overall it’s been a great dash cam. Footage is crystal clear and night vision is top notch — and a big shoutout to Jasmine from Pelsee’s customer service for the excellent support throughout my experience. One thing worth flagging: the included OBD hardwire kit may not be fully compatible with all vehicles. On my Elantra, everything worked perfectly except parking mode — instead of activating at the 5 minute mark as shown in the demo, it would kick in at a random time, sometimes minutes later, sometimes hours. That said, this is understandably outside of Pelsee’s control since not all vehicles are wired the same way. Again what really stood out was Pelsee’s customer service. Quick response and a shoutout to Jasmine specifically for resolving the issue.
