Review: Very conductive but hard to use - Very conductive but hard to use. The ball-point tip is useless. I pulled the pen apart and used a tiny artists brush, dipping it directly into the pen tube. This works quite well -- although the line you get depends entirely on your dexterity. I was able to get pretty consistent lines 0.1 inch wide. However, line width less than 0.25 inch requires some skill. You need at least two coats, and think about five. Look at your line with a good (20X) magnifier. If it looks continuous it is. If you see any tiny gaps, it is not. My lines easily handled 20 mA. You can clean the brush with lacquer thinner, BUT lacquer thinner is nasty so put some serious safety precautions HERE. The lines you paint MUST be dry. They do not conduct when wet. With the brush, I could easily paint circuit board and plastics. Also, I could solder to it (to my surprise). Once dry, the paint is pretty rugged. You can cut lines through it easily with a sharp x-acto knife. Overall, it handles similar to hobby paint. I gave this five stars because it is pretty amazing stuff. It is not easy to use and you do not get much paint in one pen. It is not suitable for children.
Review: Incredibly easy to TSOP OG Xbox!! - I bought this conductive pen because I hate soldering and lacked the materials as well. Using conductive ink was surprisingly easy and it worked flawlessly on my first try! Thanks to this pen I was able to bridge the TSOP points on my Xbox in less than a minute and flash the Bios to whichever one I wanted! Be sure to always look up instructions on YouTube before trying this yourself!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can yo use this type of conductive ink to cut glasss in the microwave?**
A: I would not put this in the microwave.

**Q: Could this be used to repair electric circuit in a car?**
A: Yes, I used it to repair the circuit board on a dishwasher

**Q: Will this pen work in an upside down condition? For example, an angled rear car glass with a defroster broken trace.**
A: If aesthetics are of little concern, this will probably work.

What I would do is clean the broken trace with isopropyl alcohol 91%. Retrace with this pen, test, then apply 2-part clear epoxy over the retrace to protect it <important if you don’t want the morning dew to dissolve the ink the next day.

you may have to lightly sand the broken trace beforehand if the ink doesn’t stick well

also may have to lightly sand the protective coating of the 2 unbroken trace ends, so this ink will be able to conduct.

It may be tricky using this upside down, in which case maybe dab the ink onto a small brush and apply that way.

**Q: Need to fix accidentally removed solder pads on car key fob is it possible to add actual solder after dry to connect thin wire?**
A: The conductive ink isn't likely to take solder - you could just tape the wires down onto the ink lines, but not for permanent installation.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Takes a long time to fully dry.
*by W***Y on October 5, 2024*

Used this to re-coat a flex cable where the socket had worn off the original conductive coating. First two times it did not work for very long because I only let it dry for hours. Finally, I let it dry for a week and it now it has been working for a week. I like the fine tip. Shake regularly while using.
