Review: These are so comfortable that I wear them inside the home under my sweatpants.. Nice high waste, but not too high. Super soft and comfortable but will last.. I bought two pair a few years ago and still have them. I even bought the heavyweight ones too. Now my old style waffle long johns are getting closer to the trash bin. As for warmth, I'd say that these lightweight ones are like your average long johns.. The heavy weight ones are thicker and better for down to zero (if under jeans).
