Did you use plumbers putty or silicone caulk under this plug? Which would be better?

Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. Danco recommends placing silicone caulk on the underside of model number 11091 and tightening the putty cup and shank nut underneath the sink to create a watertight seal around the faucet hole.

Will this fit on a 1 inch thick granite counter?

Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. Danco model number 11091 has a 3” long shank and should work for your counter.
