Very well made. Would buy again. The instructions are fairly simple and straight-forward. Some learnings: 1) Don't use the allen key that comes with it. It's not a good fit and will strip the screw. You'll need to use your own that fits it well. 2) You'll need help from someone who has very good finger strength. By god was it hard to screw the top rail to the legs together. All the other connections were much easier. 3) Because of #2, you may want to drill the pilot holes just a wee bit larger. Try the screws first to see how tight they are. (We didn't increase the pilot hole size as I had my husband put it together. I would have needed to as I'm not strong enough to tighten the screws.) 4) Buy new screws if you're afraid of stripping your screw heads. We stripped the last screw. Goodness was it hard to get out. They provide an extra screw. Other than the screw issue, the stools are very well made, solid, and super comfortable. The finish on it is satin, and a warm nice colour.

Step 1: buy your own screws. Those provided stripped terribly. I needed to use a screw extractor. Step 2: use a torque wrench. The hex tool provided was poor quality and fit badly. Step 3: check to see that all holes are drilled as needed. I assembled four of these stools. After taking the the steps above, I discovered the LAST leg was missing two holes: specifically, two holes were not drilled through the leg as needed (see picture). So, I drilled AND countersunk two holes. Step 4: write a long, convoluted review to warn others. In the end, nice looking stools, but you'd save yourself some grief with your own screws, good tools, and by checking the legs. Do not use a power tool for assembly. As stated above, use a good torque wrench.

Very easy to assemble, and very sturdy/solid. I do like that they give you an extra screw, plug and washer in case one is lost or deformed. If you have access to a 4mm hex ratchet tool, it's easier on the hand/fingers and quicker than the supplied L wrench.

I love this chair for the kitchen. I can't stand for a long period of time to wash dishes or cook. This chair is great. A lot higher than my office chair I was using.

These stoosl look awesome and the fit and finish exceeded my expectations for the price of $100 for a set of 3. Other similar stools we looked at cost $100 or more each. The stools were well packaged and assembly is rather simple except...... the assembly hardware is very poor quality. But here are some tips so you can assemble them without stripping out the screw heads. 1) Throw away the included Allen wrench and use a good quality Allen wrench or a 4mm bit in a screw driver. You will strip out the screw heads if you use the cheap Allen wrench and it will be near impossible to unscrew the recessed screws. Make sure when turning the screws the bit is fully inserted all the way in the screw, well aligned, and you keep solid pressure pushing in while turning. 2) Ream out the holes in the cross supports with a 7/32" drill bit. Go in and out of the hole a couple of times. Otherwise the hole will be very tight and you have a high chance of stripping the screw heads. 3) Before inserting the screws into the holes, coat them with a thick coat of hand soap. This will act as a lubricant to make them screw in easier. Even following the above if you are not careful to keep firm pressure pressing the bit against the screws when driving them in, you may end up stripping a screw or two, but it will likely be when they are already tight and you should be fine. If you don't take extra precautions you may end up being unable to tighten the screws with them stripping before they are even close to tight. (The screws are low quality like the Allen wrench.) It's too bad they did not spend an extra $1 or 2 to include better quality hardware as the quality of the stool is great and they look awesome. I normally would have deducted 2 stars for the bad hardware but this set is such a good value I only dinged it 1 star for the bad hardware and extra work to keep them from stripping. Assembly time taking the extra steps is 15-20 minutes per stool. I normally use power tools to assemble furniture but did not with these as it would be very hard not to strip out the cheap screws using power tools. I recommend this set but you have to be very careful not to strip the screw heads.
