The pictures are great and wonderful to prepare for dissections and to review several of the topics we cover in class. I have the biology one also and I highly recommend both of them. I understand that some kids can do dissection with no ill effects, but it was a real stress point for my animal-loving daughter. Her science teacher was wonderful enough to approve this workbook for her. It is not a "child-like" coloring book, but is very informative and instructional. She will learn all about the frog without the horror of the formaldehyde and scalpels. I recommend this workbook and hope your science teacher is willing to work with you. No cows eyes for us!! I use this book ALL THE TIME for this course. It really helps the kids learn the parts of the animals and gets them to focus for a little bit on the structures and the organism. I scanned the book into the computer so I have a PDF version of it and now I can take snippets from the book and put them on the kids' tests, so they see the same diagram throughout the lesson and don't have a completely different diagram that they have to "relearn" on the test. Highly recommend this book.
