If purchased, i intend to install permanently. Can someone just pull the wood of fr the metal spike?

I don’t know if you can pull the spike off but you could cut it off with a hacksaw. I put some 15 mm copper tube into the ground which the spike fits into so the posts can be removed for grass cutting.

do you need to get permission to put these on your verge ?

Yes if the land belongs to the council or if the verge is near the highway.

What is the cross-section size please?

The timber is 72 - 75 mm square, the spike is 12mm solid steel. I hope this helps

Did the job

These were good quality even if a bit expensive for what they are. The iron rod could be longer to give them more stability but the do the job. I just needed them to discourage people parking on my open fronted lawn to the front of my house. Seems to have worked.

Easy to fit and should do the job

Bought these as a deterrent to keep tractors and trucks from flattening the grass verge outside the house. Very easy to install with a sledge hammer and they appear to be doing the job.
