Delivery and Packaging This plush Backgammon set arrives in a lovely retail box - very much good enough to wrap up as a present. It was delivered quickly with Amazon's usual aplomb - well padded and no damage. Design and Build Quality. Inside the retail box is a cushioned leather case with polished metal catches and leather wrapped handle. It looks and feels premium. Snapping open the catches and opening the case reveals the Backgammon board - which is also made of stitched leather. A soft material lines the rest of the case interior and there are slots for the checkers for storage or when bearing off during play. There are two additional checkers in case of a loss - one for each colour and a selection of dice, along with a narrow cup to shake and throw the dice. There is a doubling cube included to up the stakes during the game. There is also a small soft cloth bag in which to store the dice . The checkers are smooth, polished, so easy to slide along the points. The case feels really well made and I think this will last for years if looked after well. If you are new to Backgammon and this is you'r first set - as luxury as this feels - then rest assured there is a short history of the game and some short explanation of the game to get you started but there are plenty of resources on the internet to give insight on gameplay and strategies. Conclusion This is an excellent Backgammon set. It's well designed and of a high quality build. It will impress any enthusiast of the classic board game.
