Great for brewing whole-leaf tea in a similar manner to gaiwan preparation. It's a bit of a hybrid style because at a max flow of 3.5g/s, it takes a while to fill the brewer each steep, and generally you'll brew multiple steps in a row and combine them into a larger cup of tea. Overall I find the greedy siphon a fantastic way to convert an Xbloom into a functional tea brewer. The downside is probably the price point which is pretty significant. You could buy a whole tea set and draining tea table for this price. It also doesn't really make any better tea than you can get by putting a Western-style brewer under the Xbloom faucet and just running a few hundred grams of water into it. And finally, the app doesn't have intuitive ways of making tea recipes *yet*.

The price is way higher than it should be for what you get. Tea leaves have to be LARGE or they travel through the syphon and into the cup. Does not work consistently and has ruined many cups of tea. Tea particulate seems to interrupt the syphon and then when the machine is completing second or third steep, the water does not stay in the dripper and instead goes directly to the cup, resulting in an inadequately developed cup of tea. Love the idea but this definitely seems "beta" and not ready for market, especially for $50! Returning for a refund and thankful to have purchased in Amazon.

I love this tea brewer! I used to make my tea in a french press but it was messy and time consuming. This makes it way easier since I already have an xbloom for coffee. I just throw in some loose leaf and start my recipe, and a cup of tea is poured in front of me. It's really cool how it siphons the water. The machine fills it up almost to the top, lets it steep based on the recipe, then adds just a bit more water to cause the siphon to dump all the freshly steeped tea into the cup. It repeats this however many times you specify in the recipe. Kinda like a Pythagorean cup, a.k.a. "greedy cup". I've seen some people have issues with the second steep siphoning too early, but I don't have that problem. Also, if your loose leaf is too fine, some of it will probably end up in the cup. But I don't really care about that.
