It's story and characters is amazing. I was a little dissapointed there is no English dub and it's only subbed. But it's not that big a deal or at least for me anyway. Well worth the price! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute delightful look at the workings of a school band *by R***M on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 November 2018* As a euphonium player, I was drawn to this series and, while the eupho part is excellent, this is about the whole band and their efforts to prepare for a inter-school competition. The series begins when our star, Kumiko, starts at senior high school and involves her joining the band with some of her new friends (on tuba and double bass), and fitting in with all the other students to create a harmonious and professional outfit ready to take on the Kansai regional championships.Anyone who has been in a school band will love the details in this series. There's no fanservice and romance is only a secondary feature, as it is mostly about fitting in and developing/maturing. The music is pretty good too. Visually and aurally, the Blu-Ray is faultless. I would have liked to have an english dub, but we can't have everything. The extras are minimal, six mini episodes (2-3 minutes each) giving a humorous look at the life of student musicians, a couple of promos (no subtitles for these), and a beautiful artbook with heaps of pictures of the characters.If this is popular enough, we might have a chance of getting a release of the movie and series 2 as well. Plus it's an excellent way to introduce young (and old) people to the joys of playing music with your friends.Oh, and the picture I've added? It's one I took from a poignant scene at the summer festival between Kumiko and Rena, the trumpet player.
