Within 7 learning cycles, this unit decreased startup amps from 54, to 44 to 38 and finally settling at 32-33 amps. I mean, wow! The install took just a few hours, taking my time. I had to mount the unit outside of my AC compressor unit as there wasn't enough room inside the control box for the soft start unit. It dramatically reduced the inrush current on my 5 ton Goodman AC system *by P***O on 12 August 2025* At first, I just want to say that the Micro Air Flex Soft Start I just installed on August 9th is working great so far. It has reduced the inrush current from 117 amps to 30 - 35 amps. The 117 amps were with the hard start kit that was installed when I purchased the system 3 years ago, which I removed before installing the Micro Air Flex. I was curious what the inrush would be without the hard start, and it was 146 amps. Running amps were 16 before the installation, and now they vary between 14.6 to 16 The only issue I am having is with the EasyStart App. You can only see the data when the compressor is running. Not that much of a big deal, but the Micro Flex design should have included a rechargeable battery (that would charge while the compressor is running) to keep the Bluetooth alive when the compressor is offline. The other issue is that it indicates I have 4 faults in the status group, but I have no idea what they are because they are not displayed. I have to send them the information via the app to get a report of the problem. All in all, it is very easy to install, and I highly recommend this purchase if you plan on using a portable generator to power up your home during a blackout in the middle of Summer.
