This is the second one of these we’ve bought. Very pleased with it. We put in the dishwasher when it needs a good clean.

I thought this sounded like it would solve all compost bin problems. However, I am not experiencing what others seem to be. There is still odour and fruit flies are being attracted. Such a shame.

Amazing product. I’ve had green bins before but this is the best… air circulates to stop the compost bag from decomposing before you take it out. Not nearly as smelly, and the lid with holes ensures aeration without fruit flies.

Completely solved the problem of sealed containers triggering anaerobic decomposition which creates foul odors.

Ah jeez, if this thing weren't so damned awesome I would give it fewer stars because the lid is ... not durable. Many reviews on their own website say the same thing -- the lid breaks. It's "useable" when it breaks, but not really. The lid, as it should, pops open on its own when you push the tab with your elbow because you weren't thinking to open it before covering yourself in chicken juice and soggy paper towel. Awesome. But that's the bit that breaks -- it won't open on its own.Mine lasted a couple years, mind you, but I was so so so careful with it. It says dishwasher safe and it did see a few tours in there but I mostly washed it by hand, carefully.You can buy lids on the US website. No shipping to Canada. I msg'd them on facebook and they replied saying to email them and they'd help. I did, and they didn't (reply... at all). I haven't pestered as I just bought a whole new one. I do prefer the white/grey colour combo -- much nicer than the black-white that I have replaced.Functionally though -- amazing. It is magic. You have to have some god awful stuff in there for like a week or more in order for things to smell. Keep the lid closed, you're gucci. I always put a single piece of paper towel (or like, restaurant napkins that they give out in excess) at the bottom of each new bag to catch anything liquidy and really that's it. No smells. No messes. It's the best. Giving it 4* even though it's fragile and broke and I was left to buy a whole new one vs get a lid like the 'muricans can.
