Question 2

I need a better mic for Live Streaming, can I set this mic at about 2.5 ft away and have it still pick up my voice? I dont want to be eating the mic.

I practiced this. In a 12x10 bedroom, I could set the mic in one corner and it would pick my voice up if I was standing in the other corner of the room. Also, I recorded my first podcast a couple weeks ago. I had five people around a circular table about 4 ft in diameter. The mic picked up 4 of 5 voices very well. The fellow who was barely audible speaks softly and has a deep voice. He has interviewed by a local NPR affiliate and they also had issues picking up his voice in their studio. My feeling is if you are 2-2-1/2 feet away and speak with a clear voice, you should be fine.

Question 3

Will these work for multiplayer gaming? If I setup it up for single direction, it will cancel a lot of the noise coming from other directions?

Yes. Many Youtube game streamers and play through recordings have been done on Blue Yeti. It will cancel noise from your left and right if you set the recording to Cardoid mode (the third option from the dial). Been using it for Multiplayer and some light streaming on Twitch, and friends have commented and asked why my voice was much nicer and clearer.Just tone down the sensivity, if you are using it in a non soundproof-ed area. I use it in the living room with poor acoustics and it still works very well on picking up just my voice

Question 4

Will this cancel outside noise? need to use it for google hangout meetings and currently it's hard for those on gho to hear from the outside noise

I know your concern, as a partner streamer on hitbox.tv its important to cancel out outside noise. Yes. There is a knob on the mic itself that you can adjust for this. Example, I have a fan behind my green screen, and when I do a live broadcast all I have to do is turn down the sensitivity of the mic and change the mic settings itself to ONLY pick up sounds in front of it.
