Reliable Backup for HVAC
The American Zettler XMCO-321EBBC Definite Purpose Contactor 32A 1-Pole 24V Coil is a solid, reliable piece of equipment. I keep it as a backup in case our HVAC fails, which is a common failure point. It’s well-made, fits perfectly, and gives peace of mind knowing I have a replacement ready if needed. A must-have for anyone who wants to be prepared for HVAC issues.

Exact replacement for Homer D15767P02… IF you turn it upside-down!
So far, so good. Time will tell about reliability. But this is replacing a D15767P02 that was in a 5-year old Trane that shouldn’t have died yet IMO. Another review had mentioned how you have to “flip sides” with the wiring when replacing a Homer. I started to do that, but I think an easier way is to just install this one upside-down to the Homer. For example, if your Homer was mounted with the writing oriented normally, install this one so the writing is upside down. This accomplishes 2 things: 1) the wiring is now 1:1 with the Homer; take a picture of the Homer wiring and match it on this unit upside-down, and 2) your wiring will correctly match the labels on this unit. What I mean is that this unit has terminals marked L1, L2 and T1, T2. The L1/L2 are the incoming line voltage wires. If you install this unit in the same orientation as the Homer but flip the wires side-to-side, your line wires will be tied to the T1/T2 output terminals instead of the input line terminals. Does it matter electrically? Probably not. I couldn’t find anything online about whether it matters or not. And I disassembled the old Homer and I don’t see any physical differences between the L and T terminals.

Ease of Installation
Contactor worked perfect. Easy removal, easily replaced. Just be sure power is off to be safe. I replace this part, the condenser, and the AC disconnect all the same day. I did this to know when each part was R/R. I even put dates where convenient. I also changed the transformer in the unit in the attic later the same week.

Perfect Replacement - just ‘flip sides’ if warranted.
This was the perfect replacement for us. If you had the HOMER model I list below: Just remember to reverse connections such that all the things that were right of center are now left. …& all that were left are now right. The homer brand contactor is layed out in reverse (left-right) to this one. What model we had before this: HOMER. D157567P02 XMC0-321-EBBC Coil: 24 VAC 50/60Hz FLA 32 VAC 240/277 LRA 150 RES 40 Herm.refrig. comp. TORQUE FOR Cu 75°C: SCREWS 25 lb-in HESC MADE IN CHINA ^^^ old model from our HVAC Happy customer. :-)

Different manufacturer than the original, but works fine.
I just googled the information on my original Contactor Coil and this came up as the top pick. I made sure all the connectors were exactly the same as the original, and they were. It works and has had no issues in 2 weeks.

NEST Red Wire Connection Issue Resolved
Restored A/C function and saved lots of $$$ over a house call. NEST thermostat was showing connection fault with the red wire. This proved inaccurate but lead to finding this part was bad on the compressor unit. Know what you are doing before jumping in for repairs, high voltage capacitors and power running to your A/C.

Exact replacement
My friend's AC compressor suddenly stopped working, and he called me to help out. His contactor had died and I couldn't find one anywhere locally, so off to the Internet I went. The next day this one arrived, and it took about 3 minutes to install and voila, the AC unit was working again. I like that this unit is sealed unlike some of the others, since it keeps out any spiders or other critters which could get inside and mess it up.
