Not just for kids!
I actually bought this book for my mom because she hasn't been back to the Phillippines in so long. I'm talking decades long. She loved the book because it reminded her of home. She even read it to me. Yes, she read a book meant for children to her adult child, and guess what? I loved it! I admittedly don't speak the language or even understand it well for that matter, but I actually learned not only some new words but more about the culture as well.

Excellent book for children of Filipino parents or grandparents
I gave this book a 5-star rating because it is an excellent book in teaching children about the Philippines, especially children who have Filipino parents or grandparents. When I gave this to my grandchildren, they quickly learned the Filipino translations and when I sang Bahay Kubo towards the end of the book, my 5-year old granddaughter quickly memorized the whole song while her 9-year old brother was able to play the music in his toy flute. Also, even if they have never visited the Philippines, the book describes Filipino life, so not only do they learn the translations of words, but also Filipino lifestyle. This book is better at teaching Tagalog than flash cards or a dictionary because of the illustrations that make the words more real and interesting. It also becomes a source of conversation which enhances the child-parent/grandparent experience.

It’s cute
I got this book so my daughter can learn about part of her culture. My husband needed to correct certain words in the book because it wasn’t accurate.

Good Filipino book.
I appreciate the contents of this book. It is an excellent way of introducing Filipino culture to my young children, ages 1 and 3. My 85-year-old grandmother was pleased to read the contents and see the illustrations. I have found it accurate, and it has made me long for my time in the Philippines.

Such a cute book for my blasian baby
I enjoyed learning with him and learning more Filipino words with him and his Lolo. It’s fun to watch my son learn about his Filipino culture.

Easy for my son to learn Tagalog
We love that it has a story aside from teaching/translating english words to tagalog. My son loves the book! Great start to teach Fil-Am children their other language.
