Harry Potter Children's Collection

perfect

Well-packed and no scratches. I just finished watching the series on Netflix so, I can start reading this book series. In the display picture, it was 7 books only but the package is a set of 8 books (including the 8th book “the cursed child”) so I think it really is worth the price.

Romanticizing world of Harry Potter never fails to make your life miraculous and magical.

My daughter was excited to read it!

its pretty

I was both pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised with the book collection I received. First, the good: though it is not advertised in the pictures, my set came with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as well as the 7 original Harry Potter books. The not so good: My set arrived with what I can only describe as a sticky residue on the spines and covers of some of the books (see attached photos). Excess binding glue, perhaps... In any case, it was not easy to remove and I could not remove it completely. This means that the condition of the set I received is unfortunately less than pristine, which is what I hoped for when ordering this collection. Furthermore, the quality of the books themselves is unfortunately less than what I'd hoped for. The cover art of the books seem a bit blurry compared to my standalone Bloomsbury copies that I've purchased in the past. In addition, the pages of the books are ultra-thin to such an extent that the text from pages behind the one the book is opened to bleed through rather prominently, making the reading experience less than ideal. All in all, I feel that this collection is a still a good value at around ￥7,000. However, I can't leave it a great review with the quality issues that I've mentioned here.

Cursed Child is also included in this set

I owned the german editions for up to 25 years now, so they have a very sentimental value to me. But i wanted the english edition too, and i found this hardcover box set. The price was reduced, so i couldn't resist! It's really gorgeous! The box is beautiful and i really like the coverart of each book. They seem to be of good quality, too, but i guess time will tell :) The only thing i don't like - but that's just a personal preference - is the size of the books. They are a bit smaller than regular hardcover books, and something just doesn't feel right when holding them. Of course this is a childrens edition, so it makes perfect sense, but i would have loved them to be of regular size :)

The books received in great condition.
