Finally got to go camping to try this out.q It was strictly plug-n-play. I was thinking I'd have do the Bluetooth connection thing, but I didn’t. I purchased the main camera for the toy hauler & camera that mounts at the license plate at therennß.w I also mounted on the rear of the toy hauler just to see. Now I mounted this at the campsite and only used it for the trip home which was just 25 mins on the road. The clarity is great, connectivity never failed, so the range is good placed on a 35' toy hauler with a F250 towing. With all that its likely 45-40' from the cameras and the monitor. I am a guy so of course I didn't read the directions but it does seem to time out after so many mins. I pushed the power button & the monitor came right back on. Just something I'll have to investigate. It did this 2 or 3 times before I got to the house. I wouldn't claim it as a deal breaker, but a minor concern if I were driving where there was a lot of traffic and wanting "constant on." I may write the company and ask. I'm giving 5 Stars because of its simplicity, picture quality of both cameras, range, and quality of the equipment. The camera with the magnet is indeed powerful with no worries of it falling off & the bracket for the license plate mount robust. The hardest part was removing the original camera blank off my toy hauler. I do highly recommend this wireless camera system which has sharp video Fast shipping. Thats very important to me. I purchased this product about a year ago for my RV to use as a rearview mirror. Installation was quick and easy, and the image quality was excellent. I configured the camera to Always On, allowing it to function continuously as a rearview mirror, which was exactly what I needed. I enjoyed using it so much that I couldn't imagine driving my RV safely and comfortably without it. Unfortunately, the camera stopped charging last week. I contacted the customer service team by email to explain the problem and ask about getting a replacement. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, since many companies tend to assume the problem is due to customer misuse. To my surprise, the support team responded promptly with a few troubleshooting steps and assured me that if they didn't resolve the issue, they would send a replacement camera. After I confirmed that the troubleshooting had not worked and provided my shipping address, they replied again almost immediately—even considering the time zone difference—to let me know that the replacement had already been arranged. Less than three days later, the new camera arrived, and my Auto-Vox system was up and running again. The product itself has been excellent, but what impressed me even more was the outstanding customer service. It's rare to receive support that is this responsive and hassle-free. I have absolutely no regrets about purchasing this product and feel confident that the company stands behind what it sells.

Although I just received this camera I have to give it four stars for design, quality construction, great packaging and most importantly- ease of setup! Assembly and startup are very intuitive, which is good because the instructions are a bit lacking. But overall it was fast and easy to get this camera powered up and working. The magnet in the camera is really strong and I am confident it will do the job. I plan to use this on my RV and will probably remove it when traveling. The cords and cables are plenty long enough and seem to be good quality. The picture is awesome and I love the fact that you can record using the included Micro SD chip. I stuck it to the rear of my car and drove around my farm just to see how it performs and I couldn’t be more pleased. I don’t have experience with other brands or models but I can’t imagine there is a better value out there. If you need a rear view camera I can highly recommend this one.

This is the second camera I’ve purchased from Auto-Vox for towing my camper. My previous camera worked well (and still does), but it wasn’t designed to be mounted behind a tow vehicle. As a result, I was pushing it beyond its intended use. That led to occasional buffering and compression artifacts on the display. This new model solves all of those issues—and then some. Installation is a breeze. You mount the included plate, and the camera snaps onto it magnetically. The magnets are extremely strong, but for added security, you can use the included socket head cap screw to lock it in place. There's a USB-C charging port under a waterproof cover and a simple on/off switch beside it, accessible from the bottom of the camera. I charged it once via USB at the start and haven’t needed to since. The screen is excellent and comes with a 6-foot cable that plugs into your car’s 12V socket. Once powered, it automatically wakes the camera and starts the live feed. The image has a slight fisheye effect, which actually helps by widening the field of view behind the trailer. The display allows you to adjust brightness, guide lines, image orientation, and screen timeout settings. By default, the screen is set to turn off the camera after about two minutes, but I immediately changed that to stay on continuously—I use it as a rear-view camera, not just a backup cam. The manual warns that this mode may drain the battery faster, but in my experience, that hasn’t been an issue. During my longest test—a four-hour daytime drive—the battery still showed 3 out of 4 bars. Because it’s solar-powered, it’s constantly recharging. In fact, mine even showed it was charging indoors under regular lighting. The manual claims it can operate for 45 days without solar, though that seems optimistic. Still, the next time I used it, it was fully charged and ready to go. One feature I’d like to see is an option to hardwire the camera, but Auto-Vox offers other models for that purpose. The benefit of this one is portability—if your camper goes into storage, you can remove the camera in under 30 seconds for safekeeping. In conclusion, this camera is an excellent value. It delivers a clear, stable image from the back of my trailer (40–50 feet away) to the display in my vehicle, with no noticeable interference. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

I just purchased this setup and I'm very satisfied. I am a truck driver and I use this inside of my trailer to watch loading and unloading of freight. No wifi needed for connection and the camera is wireless. The magnet is very strong so it stays in place above my trailer doors even with a rough loader. The picture quality is great even in dark conditions. I highly recommend this camera system.

So far, so good. We have only used it once & it was the display along with the magnetic camera (my husband didn't want to take the time to attach the one at the license plate). It worked very well for backing our truck up to our trailer. Setup was easy & picture quality was good.

The USB C charging cable that comes with the camera does not work because the end of the cable is too short to plug into the camera correctly. Exchanged the product because after trying two different cables I thought the camera plug was somehow pushed in. When I got the new camera I found the same issue. Then I searched around in my pile of cables and found one cable that had just a little longer plug and in connected properly. Besides that took the camera on a 1200 mile trip and it was awesome. I have it mounted inside my RV looking out the back window so I prefer to charge it with a cable and now I found a different cable it should be fine. Had no idea USB C cables had different plug lengths.

This camera system is very clear and easy to install. Wireless connectivity is seamless with no issues and seems to hold a charge very well. Other than the initial charge I have not charged it yet and it's been over 6 months. I've even put it inside a cargo trailer to watch a load while transporting and it worked great. Overall it's a very solid product. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because when you mount it low for backing up to trailers it doesn't have a real wide view so you can't see trailer tounge until you are really close to it or you won't have hitch in view.

I was honestly a bit skeptical at first, but this backup camera blew me away. Installation was exactly as advertised—took me barely a minute to get it on my truck. No wires, no drilling, no stress. Just stuck it on, turned it on, and it worked right away. The base is really strong, and it hasn’t moved at all even after a few long drives. The 1080P monitor is super clear, even at night. I was surprised how far the signal reaches—I’ve used it on my truck and the video feed stayed stable the whole time. The solar charging is a great touch since I don’t have to worry about running out of battery. It comes with a storage bag too, which is perfect for when I want to switch vehicles or store it safely. I have the Autovox Solar4 camera and monitor fitted to my motorhome and it has proven to be a superb bit of kit. The Solar5 was bought for my wife's Kodiaq and horse box trailer combination and it too has been superb and a real aid to my wife when reversing. The two cameras provide all round vision as one is rear mounted and the other is mounted at the front of the trailer. The two camera kit is very comprehensive and comes with straight or angled brackets to mount the magnetic bases of the camera's should you not have a magnetic surface to mount directly. The base provides a very strong magnetic grip and the fact that the camera units can be removed and stored in the supplied bag is a real aid to security. As my wife's horsebox is aluminium and non-magnetic, I bonded and screwed the steel plates to the trailer roof. The camera's and the monitor paired straight out of the box and the whole set up was completed in less than 10 minutes. If you have a magnetic surface to mount the cameras on then it is instant. The monitor is excellent, clear and sufficiently wide to give a useful view of the surroundings and as the camera's are mounted high, a superb view looking down on traffic to the rear and any obstacles to the front. The parking guidelines are a real aid to reversing and as my wife is not over confident when reversing, she has found them to be fantastic and importantly, the stop lines allow her to judge sufficient room to lower the ramp when loading or unloading. The kit comes with a 32gb SD card and the monitor playback quality is excellent by day and night. The option to leave the monitor on permanantly means it can be used as a rear view mirror which, as the trailer blocks out the cars rear window, is a fantastic aid. The monitor DVR has a loop recording function and date/time stamps to identify any unfortunate incident. A reassuring record should someone hit you from the rear or, when the other camera is forward facing, from the front. This is a superb kit. Easy to fit, works straight out of the box and provides a real sense of security and confidence when driving. The two camera set-up covers and records both front and rear, the rear camera reverse parklines are a real aid to manouevering and the fact that you can remove and store both camera's should you wish is a real bonus. Add in that both cameras are solar powered, the carry case is very high quality, an SD card is included and the WiFi reception over an 11 metre car and trailer combination is quite superb. The whole kit is very well designed, made to an extremely high (and weather resistant) standard and wonderful value. Highly recommended.

It really is a one minute install. Out the box, plug in and switch on and camera pairs to the screen instantly. I haven't played around with settings yet but on the back of a 20ft trailer it gives me vision that I previously never had. Raneg is more than adequate. Just stuck on with the magnet so far which seems very strong, will probably use the angled mount to get a better angel but for now it's great. I previously bought one that paired (or didn't) to your phone and it was useless compared to this. My only regret was being a cheapskate and going for the smaller screen, I think the larger one would be better. UPDATE : I bought the larger screen for my other vehicle and as previously it is excellent. I had a small problem with one of the cables (nothing that prevented use) but customer service at Auto-Vox dealt with it quickly and efficiently.

Under the screen were all the mounting and wiring components. Taking the Camera out of the box it comes with a protective plastic over the Lens. Install This was the easiest thing I have installed in my car. I took the number plate off and drilled a 6mm Hole to allow the wire and plug to go through to the inside of the car. After removing all the trim from the Boot Lid I located the reverse light and added the Red wire from the wire harness to the positive wire on the light. I found a ground point to add the Black wire to it and confirmed the connection was secure. I hooked the camera and transmitter together and plugged in the monitor. Once the Aux power was on I slipped the car in reverse and after a second the screen came on and this allowed me to watch the screen and move the camera to the correct position before fixing it with the 3M preinstalled tape. Once this was in place I zip tied the wires into place and installed the transmitter into the Boot Lid using the 3M pad preinstalled (making sure the trim or other moving parts would not hit this) I added all the trim back to the boot lid and closed it. I routed the wire from the Monitor through to the Arm rest and plugged it inside the arm rest using the supplied lighter plug. I checked the operation of the unit when everything was back together and it works flawlessly and nothing is seen inside the car except the monitor on the window. A Great Addition to any car and an extra safety precaution. I would Recommend this to anyone. Installed in 30 minutes with limited tools. Another great product from Auto-Vox The Below is a product Review of the M1 Received within the time scale stated. Package arrived undamaged an I was greeted with a nice looking box sealed with plastic. Inside the box you receive the Camera monitor user guide zip ties connectors and the window mount all surrounded by a nice hard cardboard box and foam encasing the screen. Installation of the camera was easy in my estate car I removed the licence plate and checked behind it if I already had a through hole. I didn't so I took the trim from the inside of the boot lid and drilled a 5mm hole enough to get the connector through from the camera to the inside of the car. Once the camera wire was through I positioned the camera where I needed it removed the tape backing and installed the license plate again. This completes the camera install on the outside of the car. The next part will differ depending on the car you have. I ran the wires to the monitor through the rubber harness and into the roof liner then into the driver side of the car all the way to the front A pillar. By hiding the wires under the door rubbers and behind the A piller cover. Nothing is seen inside the car. I brought the connector up the outside of the piller and I have about 2 inches of loose as I wanted to be able to remove the monitor if needed and it was easier to leave the connector on show. Once the wire was hidden I connected the connectors to the monitor and headed back to the rear of the car to get power to the system. The hardest part for me was finding a ground to use in the boot lid. I connected the red wire to the positive of my reverse light and then the ground wire to the ground point from the spoiler bolt. Once complete I tested the system and it worked great so I fitted all the trims back on and made the adjustments to the lens. Tip if you have installed the camera and the display looks like it is on a slant turn the lens on the camera to straighten this out. All in all took around 90 mins to install and works perfectly. Very nice display great definition and very visible but not distracting. A great buy and an extra bit of help when. Reversing into tight spaces.

Ich habe die Kamera Anfang Juni 2026 gekauft und muss sagen, dass ich wirklich top zufrieden bin. Ich habe sie an meinem Fendt 465 Wohnwagen montiert und die Installation war wirklich kinderleicht: einstecken, verbinden und fertig. Für mich ist die Kamera während der Fahrt inzwischen fast wie ein digitaler Rückspiegel. Gerade beim Wohnwagen finde ich es super, jederzeit sehen zu können, was hinter einem passiert. Auf unserer Reise von Westfalen bis nach Kroatien hat das wirklich hervorragend funktioniert. Die Distanzanzeige ist am Anfang etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Da muss man ein bisschen ausprobieren, bis man ein Gefühl dafür bekommt. Danach passt das aber gut. Einen kleinen Kritikpunkt habe ich beim Bildschirm. Der könnte bei hellem Tageslicht für meinen Geschmack etwas heller sein. Man gewöhnt sich aber daran und für mich ist das kein Grund, einen Stern abzuziehen. Auch die Akkuleistung hat für uns völlig ausgereicht. Ich hatte die Kamera auf der Fahrt teilweise dauerhaft laufen. Ein kabelgebundenes System habe ich persönlich überhaupt nicht vermisst. Man kann die Kamera auch so einstellen, dass sie sich nach zwei oder vier Minuten wieder ausschaltet. Dann hält der Akku natürlich entsprechend länger. Ich habe die Kamera damals im Angebot gekauft und würde sie jederzeit wieder kaufen. Ich überlege sogar, mir noch eine zweite Kamera unten am Nummernschild anzubringen. Von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung und 5 von 5 Sternen.
