Beautiful flame top. Fretboard is quite red. I guess it’s cocobolo? It looks great. Neck is roasted but not as dark as the pics. Finish is not perfect but excellent overall. Frets are good. Setup is decent.Slanted heel on the bolt on neck is pretty solid but I’m afraid to take it apart. Hopefully won’t need to.Sound is good with pokey Alnico pickups. Coil split sounds good. Two-point trem feels pretty nice. Lots of value here.

I'm a sucker for IYV guitars especially when they are on sale. Did not need another guitar but just could not pass up the Black Friday deal and I wanted to check it out as I had seen the Bald Shredder do a review on it a while back.. Guitar came in one box 2 days earlier than original date, nice. This is the 7th IYV guitar I have bought over the last 3 years. This particular guitar from a defect standpoint is the best of all of my IYV purchases having almost nothing wrong with the finish. There is a small dark stain like maybe a finger print in the banding of the guitar by the lower horn otherwise almost perfect finish. Neck is dark and maybe either stained or could be heat treated maple. The pickups are quite hot and sound fine. All controls work as they should and for a cheaper switch it feels like a real switch. Tuners suprisingly work well. Intonation was close and nut is very close to being correct and as IYV has in past the nut is not glued in the fret board. The fret board is interesting as it is dark, coarse grained and some have said Jatoba but I am not sure if it is as the grain is quite open. Biggest issue with guitar was setup for string height being 2.5 mm at the 12th fret and high frets. Neck was also not screwed down tight. I don't like 2.5 mm action at the 12th fret, so I checked the fret level and found 5 frets being high. I will do a basic leveling and rounding the ends as they are sharp. I will also fret polish the frets for better look and playability. I will also put a bit of Tru Oil on the fretboard to seal it and bring out its color. The tremolo system is quite nice and works well. Neck and fret radius is for fast playing. Overall, I am quite pleased with this purchase for less than 150 dollars and free shipping. Once I finish the frets and fretboard work put new strings and put it all back together I should be able to get action down to 1.25 to 1.5 mm at the 12th fret and have a really nice guitar comparable to guitars costing a good deal more. Gave it 4 stars for fret issues. Definitely recommend this guitar. I really have to stop buying guitars as it is getting expensive. Need to become a vine customer.

If you know how to play you will be astounded by the neck action and the cut of the nut. Regardless if you can play it sounds AMAZING!! The headstock finish isn’t spectacular but the entire remainder is flawless generally I spend 7-8 hundred and up for this build with this sound and action but the playability of this instrument is priceless because it makes me smile a lot
