Anxiety, Fear, Overthinking, Self-criticism. Is this painful mental state an unavoidable, hardwired fate for humans? Or can we find lasting peace, regardless of our circumstances? Don’t Believe Everything You Think offers a radical yet simple idea: that the path to mental relief isn’t through major behavioral change but through understanding how our mind creates our experience of life in the first place. Through an approach that is at once psychological, philosophical, and practical, Nguyen guides readers to a profound understanding of how destructive thinking patterns form-and how to break them for good. The result? The ability to become emotionally resilient and free from anxiety at any moment.

A Book That Truly Makes You Reflect
I recently started developing the habit of reading, and as someone who is new to books—especially those focused on mental healing and personal growth—I found Don't Believe Everything You Think by Joseph Nguyen to be the perfect place to begin. The language is simple, easy to understand, and highly engaging, making it an excellent choice for first-time readers. More importantly, the book genuinely fulfills its purpose as a self-help guide by encouraging readers to reflect on their thoughts and shift to flow approach in life with a healthier mindset.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to begin their self-help reading journey or seeking gentle guidance for mental well-being.

Bestseller for a Reason
Don’t Believe Everything You Think is a simple but thought-provoking book. What I liked most is how the author explains the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and suffering in an easy-to-understand way.The book made me realize that not every thought that comes into our mind deserves to be believed or acted upon. It is especially useful for people who tend to overthink and get caught up in their own thoughts. Some of the concepts may feel familiar, but the book presents them in a way that encourages self-reflection. It’s a short, easy read, but there are ideas worth coming back to again and again.Overall, a good book for anyone interested in understanding their thoughts and developing a calmer perspective on life.

Great insights on overthinking, smooth delivery!
Really enjoyed the core message of this book—it is highly relevant for anyone dealing with anxiety or a busy mind. The seller did a fantastic job with fast shipping and secure packaging. Docking one star only because the book's content gets a little repetitive, but otherwise a solid 4-star experience all around.

Good Start, But Repetitive and Not Enough for Severe Anxiety
I picked up Don’t Believe Everything You Think hoping it would help with the kind of deep, overwhelming anxiety that I call the “red zone.” In my personal scale, the green zone is normal life stress, the yellow zone is manageable anxiety that improves with positive effort, and the red zone is where thoughts feel uncontrollable and everything feels heavy. For someone like me currently in the red zone, this book offered some help, but not as much as I expected. The author repeatedly emphasizes one main idea: you are responsible for how you think, and you can stop negative thoughts by identifying a reason and shifting your focus. While this may work for people in the green or yellow zones, it starts to feel repetitive if you’re already overwhelmed and trying everything—from medication to meditation. There are a few story-based paragraphs that were okay but not very inspiring or deeply impactful. So far, I have read about 107 pages (12 chapters), and the message keeps repeating without offering deeper tools for someone who is struggling intensely.Overall, I would rate this book 3 out of 5.It may help readers with mild to moderate anxiety, but for those dealing with severe or “red-zone” levels, it might feel too repetitive and not practical enough.

Easy and Thought-Provoking Read
Easy and Thought-Provoking ReadI really enjoyed this book. It’s an easy read but gives you a lot to think about, especially how much our own thoughts can affect how we feel. I liked the simple way the ideas are explained and found myself going back to certain parts. Good book for anyone trying to change their mindset and overthink less.

I am an anxious, overthinking person. This book taught me how to rewire my brain in order to suffer less, be stressed less, be anxious less. Its easy to read, the concepts are nicely explained, over all a very nice book to read if you like self improvement and have an open mind to welcome new ways to deal with your mind, emotions and thoughts. It really is a gift.
