Impala Quad Skate - Purple

I waited a few months to write this review, because I read about a concern with Impala boots separating at the heel, but I'm happy to report that I have not experienced this issue with my skates, so either I got lucky or the company has resolved the issue. Hopefully it's the latter. Just in case, the skates do come with a 3 month warranty. Aside from that, these boots are holographic beauties, and I get so many compliments every time I skate in them! They are especially mesmerizing to little girls. I added cheap vinyl toe caps that I also purchased from Amazon to protect the toe. I have narrow feet and wear a size 6-6.5. I ordered these in a size 6. They were a tiny bit snug at first, but after a couple sessions, they fit perfectly. The boot is well lined and cushioned and quite comfortable, but not breathable. So it's probably better to get a leather boot if your feet are particularly sweaty. I wear them with ultra light wool hiking socks. If you have wide feet or bunions, you can size up and also look up different ways to lace up your skates. The stock wheels are pretty decent for both indoor and outdoor use, though I did end up switching them out for some Radar Energy 78A wheels for bumpy pavement. The stopper is not adjustable, but you definitely need to adjust the trucks before skating or the wheels will feel super stiff and hard to roll. Make sure you order a skate tool and YouTube how to use it. Overall, I think these skates are a great value for beginners!

I've tried a few different brands, and they have been so-so. I have thick ankles and broad feet, so s some brands didn't work some brands didn't work out, even with lacing specific ways. Super comfortable and easy to use for beginners. I’ve had them for almost 2 months now and use them at least 2x per week. They were a little tight on the sides of the toes at first, but have since formed to my feet and adjusting the laces near the toes helped (so it wasn’t as tight). True to size. I wear a size 11 and the 11 skates have a tiny bit of room at the front of the toes, but fit great. I don’t use the hooks that go up the sides of the ankle, so my ankles can move a bit more - but still feel very supported. All around great skates for a beginner without having to spend too much. I love that they have fun colors. Chose the white ones because they looked like the pair I owned when I was 8 years old :)

Update: I upgraded my rating to 4 stars once I learned from the seller that the skates were packaged and fulfilled by Amazon. Although, I still don’t know why the skates smell strongly of cigarette smoke, I assume that Amazon is also partially to blame. Wherever these skates originated from, came from a place with a “cigarette smoker.” 🚬🤮 This is the second pair of roller skates we’ve ordered from Impala. The first pair that I received were the wrong size and smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. I re-ordered the correct size thinking that the 1st issue was an isolated issue. The 2nd pair also smelled strongly of nasty cigarette 🤢 smoke. I had to air them out, outside. I have respiratory issues at times and the overwhelming scent of cigarette smoke triggered a lot of coughing for me. If it weren’t for that, I would have given these skates a 5-star review. It’s probably best to not smoke around your products.

I read so many reviews before making my first skate purchase and these were a no brainer. Sizing is perfect. They fit so comfortably i was surprised. The design is everything, ive only gone out skating with them 2 times now and have gotten sooooo many compliments. I skated for 4 hrs today and the wheels havent budged as far as tred goes, which is nice because some wear out quickly. Im so happy to have made this purchase. They ride so nicely. I feel like im flying when im skating in these. Will definitely be repurchasing in another design as soon as i can! Best purchase ever!

PROs: These skates have lasted me a year or solid skating - trail and artistic. They are a perfect starter pair as they have really solid ankle support. Very cute pattern, and helped me get into skating. CONs: The faux leather lining was cracking along the heel after two months. As these are really stiff skates, they aren't the best for artistic skating, but I did learn the basics just fine in them. After a year of skating I am upgrading to Moxis.
