I’m using the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN on my Canon R50 (APS-C, RF mount) and it’s quickly become one of my favorite lenses. The 48.2° angle of view feels natural and works well for portraits, travel, and everyday use. The ultra-fast f/1.4 aperture creates stunning background separation, and the bokeh is smooth and creamy thanks to the 9-blade rounded diaphragm. The lens produces crisp, vibrant images and feels solid despite being small and lightweight. The 52mm filter thread is convenient, and the compact size makes it perfect for travel or street photography. The only drawback is the lack of image stabilization, but that’s also what keeps it so light and portable. For video, I’d suggest using a tripod or gimbal. Overall, this is a fantastic prime lens that delivers sharpness, beautiful bokeh, and excellent value for Canon R-series APS-C users.

Micro 4/3 (MFT) systems have quite a few affordable and very good lenses, both Panasonic and Olympus. However when looking for a large aperture (f1.4 or larger) lens that's sharp and with shallow DoF, things get a bit complicated. Our options, with autofocus, are: Panasonic Leica Summilux DG 25mm F1.4 for USD 519.99 Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 25mm f1.2 PRO for USD 1,199.99 or this lens, the Sigma 30mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary for USD 339.00 Granted the Olympus has superior optics, is weatherproof and more solidly built but its 3.5X the cost! However the Panasonic Leica cannot claim any of those and is still a good USD 180 more. The only weird thing about the Sigma(and this depends on your needs) is its 30mm (60mm =) focal length. This makes it harder as a walk round lens but is actually more adequate for portraits. In my case it suits me fine as I'd rather have a 17mm (35mm =) as walk around lens. If you have a MFT system you should give this lens a try.

The lens itself is great but don’t buy it from Carmarthen cameras selling on Amazon or you will pay £30 over the odds and they may not deliver on the day you agree with Amazon. You’ve been warned!

I bought this lens for my Canon M50 and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve owned it for a couple months now so thought I would share some thoughts. ———Image Quality——— The image quality out of it is fantastic! It’s pin sharp, colors are vivid and bright, and the f/1.4 is incredibly nice to shoot with at this focal length (you get some insane bokeh). The only downside I’ve found with this lens is it does have chromatic aberration wide open, but this is easily fixed in Lightroom if your shooting RAW (I believe the camera takes care of it if you shoot JPG). The focal length on a crop sensor like my M50 make this lens essentially a 50mm lens which is a great everyday length to shoot with. It can get a bit cramped sometimes indoors but it forces you to re-think your composition a bit which I actually enjoy. ———Build Quality——— Lens came with a lens hood, which was a welcome surprise and the build quality of the lens itself is really top notch. The focus ring is buttery smooth (honestly, its the smoothest focus ring I’ve ever used) and the lens itself is a decent weight, makes the M50 feel really good in the hand. The lens is metal and so I have no worries about its build quality, its honestly probably more durable than the camera lol. ———Summary——— For the price you can’t go wrong with this lens, it stays on my camera all the time now and I am loving the shots I’m getting with it. If your on the fence, do yourself a favor and just buy this lens, you will not regret it!

Very good lens from Sigma for Fuji cameras . Build quality is plastic bit looks good . Fuji lenses are all metal construction but cost double than this lens. Quality for the photos is good, autofocus is satisfactory. Price was 27k.
