After making my own seed plate, this model is lightweight, easy to use and has spacing requirements build into the tool so you know where to position your pegs. Wish it came with extra screws in case some break/get lost over time, but otherwise love the seed starting kit it comes with (though the seeding tool has shallow ridges that don't slow down seeds, so use at your own risk). Definitely recommend for anyone getting into square/vertical gardening to utilize their space efficiently.

I just started gardening and was looking for a tool to help me get proper spacing - this was a fantastic option! I gave 4 starts vs 5 as it can be a bit time intensive to change the spacing between plant type varying needs but really it's not terribly difficult. This did a great job of keeping my rows straight and evenly spaced. It's the appropriate size for task & easy to store in the garden box. Thanks in part to this lil gadget, the garden is now thriving!

This product has adjustable positions which allow uniformity and proper spacing. I took two hundred baby beet plants and placed them into two hundred spaced holes in minutes

I purchased this seed dibber after reading several positive reviews and was hopeful it would make planting seeds quicker and more consistent. Unfortunately, it just didn't work well for my gardening conditions. The biggest issue I ran into was that the tool wouldn't leave an open planting hole behind. As soon as I pulled it out of the soil, the dirt would collapse right back in, making it difficult to place seeds where intended. This ended up creating more work rather than saving time. That said, I don't necessarily think it's a poorly made product. I suspect a lot depends on your soil type. We have a mix of soil, including some sandy areas, and that may have contributed to the problem. It might perform much better in richer, heavier garden soil that holds its shape better. Pros: ✔ Lightweight and easy to handle ✔ Simple design ✔ Can help with spacing seeds evenly ✔ Affordable gardening tool Cons: ✘ Holes collapsed immediately after removing the tool ✘ Didn't work well in my sandy/mixed soil conditions ✘ Made seed placement more difficult than expected Final Thoughts: While the concept is great, this tool wasn't effective in my garden. If you have loose or sandy soil, your experience may be similar to mine. Gardeners with dense, rich black soil may have better results, but for my planting conditions, it simply didn't perform as expected

This has been so helpful with planting. I did 8k heads of garlic and this tool helped me make perfect straight rows and perfectly spaced holes. I like that you can adjust the spacing and the depth of the hole. It’s a little small for big garlic cloves and probably too big a hole for tiny seeds but you can still use the tool for marking and trenching rows and so much more. I look forward to using it for planting green beans and bigger seeds like that- it should really shine. It is just plastic though- so if you are working in the ground it’s not going to help much with rocks and things. Also hard ground is going to be difficult. But since most people garden in soft potting soil or well prepared beds I feel confident giving this 5 stars! A stainless steel version of this would be even better. But for the price you can’t beat this!
