VX9 is the professional model of Garrett's vortex detector series. It has seven frequency choices, including the exclusive multi-dimensional multi-frequency (MD-MF) option. In multi-frequency operation, Vortex displays unique three-level target identification scales, including two ferrous scales to help the user identify unwanted ferrous waste. My old waterproof metal detector broke which was from a different company and after a lot of research, I decided to get this one. So far it has been amazing! No complaints. Works great in fresh water. I did buy the smaller coil and waterproof headphones separately, as those are not included. Can also purchase wireless headphones which is a great option for dry land detecting. Found 3 rings so far with it and a lot of coins.
