I bought 2 dashcams and found that the supplied plug-in power supply units interferred with the cars' DAB reception. I also got fed up with the supplied cigarette plug-in power supply sticking out of the dash, which got in the way and so I decided to permanently wire directly into the car and saw this unit. I am very impressed as it comes with a long lead, which is about 3.5m long, and has various fuse type of connections to fit practically all modern car fuses. I also liked the fact that they provided both a Mini USB and a Micro USB connector so that it will power any dashcam. Fitting was straight forward once you located the fuse box and decided on the best way to get there. Use the supplied plastic tool to lift the car trims and seals to hide the wire. Do not use a screwdriver otherwise you will damage your trim. Find the relevant fuse you are going to use, lift it out and insert their adaptor. If you want the dashcam to keep powered (and usually go into standby mode) when you are parked up and away from the vehicle to record if someone bumps into you, find a fuse which stays powered even when the ignition is turned off. If you want the dashcam to power down when you leave the vehicle, find a fuse which goes off when the ignition is off. I downloaded a fuse diagram for my car to find which one to use. As a bonus, for me it has reduced the DAB interference caused by the original supplied plug-in power supplies, so, all in all, I think this is good value and makes a neat looking installation.

Very good Dashcam one of the best around

Ordered this to go with an Apeman C550 on a Volvo V90. Now that I've installed it correctly (after a number of attempts) it's working well. The kit is good and includes a number of different fuse adaptors although the supplied fuse for the dashcam power has really flimsy terminals so be careful when fitting them. I installed to the fuse box under the glove box and after install I got a huge amount of interference on DAB and FM. I removed the hardwire kit and went back to cigarette lighter which helped rectify the issue but not completely. I then realised I installed the rear cam along the side of the car with the DAB aerial which was the real cause of the interference. I have now swapped the rear cam cable to the other side of the car (drivers side) and installed the hardwire kit again and everything is fine. The kit comes with some tools to help on the install although the plastic pry looks so flimsy I decided not to use that at all.The wires themselves are thin enough to hide easily in the door pillars and lining. One thing to note is it doesn't come with an electrical signal blocker / magnet thing which other kits do... that said after I installed it correctly and away from the DAB aerial I don't need it. I hope it lasts long enough for it to be worth the effort of installing a few times!

I installed this hard wire kit in around 20 mins. Its so easy, basically find your fuse box, choose which socket you are going to use. Choose the correct "piggy back" connector, put the existing fuse in one socket and the matching supplied fuse in the other, earth to the car, run the cables as necessary to connect to your dash cam and hey presto, all done. The kit was supplied with many different types of fuse connectors to suit any vehicle, some adhesive cable guide clips, loads of length to the cables (probably a bit to much for my mustang) and even a little blue plastic "poker" to help push the cables behind any panels. Great value, easy to fit and no more massive charger poking out of my lighter socket so all wires are now completely hidden and most importantly of all no more having to remember to turn it off and on to avoid a drain to your battery. Ace!

This is the scond of these kits I have purchased. I fitted the first one into a Range Rover to power a NextBase dashcam. The size of the power block and fuse allows the cabling to be completely hidden. Total install time - under an hour. And it worked perfectly first time. It's still doing the job after 2 years. This month I bought another for my Mazda MX-5 for an Apeman dashcam and installed it in 30 minutes. Again, it worked first time and is now running perfectly. So straightforward no fitting instructions are needed. General installation demos are on YouTube - just search "dash cam hardwire install". No cables wrapped around the rear view mirror or dangling over the dash, no need to use the cigarette lighter/accessory power socket. I'm a delighted customer, I give this a 5 star rating.

I recently bought a new car and needed to install my Dashcam from my old car to my new one so bought this hardwire kit to hardwire my Dashcam. The kit came the following day after purchasing thanks to Amazon Prime and inside was everything needed to hardwire my Dashcam to my new car. The whole process was so simple to do and hiding all the cables took a little time and patience but nothing too complicated. I now have a fully working Dashcam in my new car and it works flawlessly. I am more than happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to hardwire a Dashcam into their car.

Thought this was for front and rear but only had front cable

Achat prévu pour l’installation d’une dashcam DDPAI j’ai trouve ce kit super complet ce qui a rendu énormément facile la mise en place du circuit à partir de ma boite à fusible jusqu’à la dashcam. Discret et de bonne qualité j’ai réussi à passer tout le câblage de façon à rendre le tout discret propre et fonctionnel. Pas de soudure ou jointure particulière le tout s’installe facilement et rapidement. La longueur du câble est aussi un plus pour des installations sur des véhicules comme le mien (Citroën Jumper). J’en suis content et le recommande sûrement a tous ce qui prévoit ce type d’installation !

Dovevo installare una dash cam, e ho cominciato cercando i vari cavi, trasformatori, rubacorrente etc, poi si amazon sono incappato su questo kit con all'interno tutto il necessario, ad un prezzo molto minore della somma dei componenti individuali. L'installazione è stata facilissima e immediata, ed era la prima volta che mi mettevo a frugare nella parte elettrica della macchina. La prima cosa che faccio prima di comprare un oggetto, è leggere i commenti degli acquirenti. Ma mi precipito a leggere quelli negativi, con 1 stella; ho notato che per la maggior parte dicono che gli di scarica la batteria. Personalmente ho collegato il rubacorrente al fusibile dell'accendisigari, così si accende solo quando giro la chiave, e la mia batteria non ha avuto alcun problema. Mi sento decisamente di consigliare il kit.
