Models Tiger I Mid Production

Tamiya has some great kits and this is one of them. I have built 2 versions of this kit. The kit is simple and easy to assemble into a nice model for a novice. With aftermarket add ons, this can be turned into a very nice model. This kit has separate link tracks that are simple to assemble. This is a good kit for a novice to start out with separate tracks. Not as detailed as a Ryefield Tiger kit, but not nearly as difficult either. Recommend this kit. For an intermediate builder, this is a weekend kit.

The box was a little jacked but the model came complete and intact

This is an excellent model. The only draw back are the plastic Treads that have to be glued together over 100 pieces per side. Tamiya should perfect a plastic tread for each side that will require only 1 or 2 links maximum. The treads as individual links are a tremendous drawback and can be frustrating to builders as the tank cannot be completed until they are done which is tedious.

This is a fun model to put together. I was apprehensive when it came to assembling the tracks because of some reviews I've read but found they weren't that difficult to make. Some caution needs to be taken. It takes exactly 100 links for each side as stated in the instructions so count them out first. There are extras. All links are not created equal. As I was putting them together I found several did not fit quite right and found there are nine links marked "2" that have pins on them to attach to the turret so don't mix them up. Feed the tracks from back to front, set the slack on the top,and hook them together on the bottom. Now let each side set and dry. About an hour per side.

Great kit and it came fast

Great kit. A few tricky parts but generally a fairly straightforward build.
