Works great lets me set the flow rate I want.
I use these valves on a pump and dump geothermal unit. I don't like to waste water and tried other brands but they didn't actually adjust the flow, this one does. Easy to install, love it.

Reliable electric valves for almost any sprinkler system
Orbit makes excellent control valves that you can expect to last a long time. The sizes are standard and correct, and are designed well and last for a long time. But should the solenoid fail, easy to obtain and inexpensive so you aren't replacing entire valves should one solenoid fail. Whether you're installing a complete system with six or more zones, or just a few (or one!) to automate turning on or off a small drip irrigation system for example. Whether you have one zone or six. All you need is an Orbit electric valve, and a sprinkler controller which supplies 24v AC to open the valve which is the standard. Almost any sprinkler controller out there uses 24v AC to open control valves. I have four of these now. They are all connected in-line to an always on 1/2" PVC water supply, I always use control valves that are 3/4" with 1/2" water supply lines, as an adapter fitting is needed to connect it directly to a PVC "T" fitting, but it won't have any restriction with the valve being slightly larger than the actual supply line and 3/4" valves and other components are one of the most common sizes. If you've never put together an automatic sprinkler. If you only have one 1/2" water line, and it provides enough pressure to the sprinkler heads or drip emitters you have, very simple! But if you have a lot of sprinkler heads or drip emitters, you need several valves in parallel so you can send all the pressure to one zone at a time, so they all have enough pressure. Each electric valve is a "zone", so you have all the pressure of the line going to one "zone" of sprinklers/drip emitters at a time. Then your controller turns one off, and the next one on, and doing so on each "zone" to be able to supply enough pressure for that zone, and so on for each watering cycle. Without a series of valves, you would never have enough pressure to have a bunch of sprinkler heads using a single valve without a huge 2" supply line, and the water main is generally only 1 1/2" in most homes. So Orbit control valves are a necessity to be able to supply water to everything! I tried other brands of valves, but Orbit valves are the only ones that really last. They've never failed me and still operate like new after 3 years or more. If one does fail just from being used for 5 years or longer where they activate several times a day. They are also very easy to repair as you can just replace the solenoid. Which are very inexpensive and easy to obtain from Orbit. These are really the only part that would fail on an electric valve as it's the only moving part. Orbit valves are easy to use, reliable, and the only ones I use. Anything with a moving part can wear out. But it's simple to get replacement parts for Orbit valves if necessary and they're inexpensive. This is a huge deal as you don't have to replace an entire valve if the solenoid ever wears out and it stops working. Simply unscrew the failed solenoid and screw on a very inexpensive replacement, and it functions like new again. It doesn't get any easier!

Commercial quality inline valve
I needed a valve to control the water going to the back half of our yard. This valve does a great job and has a feature that’s pretty nice. It is electrically controllable which is nice so I can remotely turn water to the sprinklers and the hose bibs in the backyard on or off whenever I want. It has three quarter inch threaded ports for the incoming and outgoing PVC pipe so that gives it even more flexibility. The valve itself is very solid and well made. I’ve used Orbit valves before and they’re a good company that does a good job and this is a professional version of their inline valve so you know it’s got to be better. At the top of the valve is a flow control valve that determines how much water goes through the valve when it’s completely open. It moves very easily and it’s a nice feature. This is a well built commercial valve that is built with high quality materials and parts. Orbit is a great company and I have no reservations recommending this valve to anyone who needs it.

Great Product, Great Brand!, and Easy to replace!
Orbit is one of the the biggest brands for sprinkler related items such as this valve. My home has orbit products that have been in the ground probably going on 15-20 years without fail. I’m getting to the point that some valves are sticking, so this came in handy and will be on hand to use when needed. Install is simple with the threaded ends and should be a direct replacement to any 3/4” lines you have existing already, or for a new install. Look no further for a great valve at a great value!

More features than basic 57100 valve
This black Orbit in line valve pro model 57290 is slightly shorter between the inlet and outlet (see pic) than the 57100 green valve. This difference is worth noting if using this to replace a 57100 because you'll likely need to modify (extend) your piping a little. The female threaded fittings are not quite as thick as the green one, either, so more care is needed to not overtighten and crack them. The heights are roughly the same, so no clearance issues related to that aspect. The best feature of this pro model is the flow control knob. Another nice feature is the captive screws on the bonnet - no more hunting for screws dropped in the valve box. If you have a zone you need to reduce the flow on, I'd recommend this pro valve. If Orbit made the plumbing dimensions identical, I'd give it 5 stars because it would save a lot of time to do the swap.

It's Orbit, so it's great!
Orbit is consistently a good product that is well designed. This little sprinkler valve is the identical replacement for one that I didn't blow out properly and cracked, so naturally it's 100% compatible. Entirely my fault, but the original had been in the ground for years and it's at a low spot... I should know better! My photo below includes some stainless fittings that don't come with it, FYI. I was checking for fitment and no issues there. Super easy replacement and hopefully this one will last for years as well.

Direct replacement for my previous orbit valve. Make sure to check the correct voltage options. Works as it should. Good price compared to elsewhere and has the option of regulating flow when activated.
