Any ideas on how to get it out?** A: Sorry to hear the bolt snapped. You said it broke in the rail but I assuming you meant the newel post? If you did not put some wax or other lubricant on the bolt and reamed the hole a bit using the proper size bit in hardwood it is possible that the bolt could fail. Assuming it is snapped in the newel the best way is to take a small wood chisel and carefully carve in a bit all around the bolt to try and leave enough sticking out to grab with locking pliers. The rail will cover where you chisel around the bolt. If you would like another bolt or a refund please let us know. I installed one at each end of our oak handrail. Things got a bit tight at the upper end, where a spindle had to be installed in the same spot, but a liberal amount of PL-400 solved the problem. By the way ... these bolts are marvellous! **Q: Are oak plugs included?** A: There are no oak plugs included in this bulk pack. I used a 7mm hole with a little grease and it worked a treat. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by A***R on 1 January 2024* Just used the angled rail bolt, and am very pleased with the product. I found the hinge to be sturdy and allowed the bolt to be screwed into the post effectively without issue. I did drill a 9/32” hole and greased the threads with petroleum jelly. Would not recommend skipping the lubricant. Following the instructions on the back (though they are small) allowed me to properly drill all required holes, and there is enough play in the system that you don’t need perfect holes for it to work! The gears in the tightening mechanism are tight to start, but if you work them a bit (spin back and forth 10+ times without the bolt) they will spin more smoothly and make it much easier to install with the rail.
