My kiddo uses this for Lego stop motions and the quality is fantastic for the price. Plug and play. You can zoom in on character faces to get a portrait. For photos its perfect, for video I would keep looking.

Great camera for live streaming

I had hoped to jury rig servos to remotely control the zoom and brightness of this lens, but the design is just to poor to allow for that. If you change the zoom, you have to change the focus. However, the ring on this lens that controls the focus, has a set screw locking the lens into position. Effectively, the zoom capability is almost useless due to the need to loosen the focus ring set screw, change the zoom, get into focus, and finally re-tighten the focus ring set screw. The sad thing is, I have another zoom lens that is built properly where zoom, brightness, and focus, each have their own adjustment ring. My only problem is that the mount diameter is too small. I need an adapter. Alas and alack! When used like any other fixed focus lens the 16MP camera picture quality is pretty good, hence the three stars.

Solidly built, Windows plug and play USB camera, with a long sturdy cable. Works as advertised. MINOR issues that are very easy to deal with: 1. No instruction sheet provided. If you have used a Windows camera, you will be able to use this as it is Plug and Play with Windows. 2. There are two images in the product description that are not consistent with respect to the control rings. You will be able to figure this out. The inner ring on my camera, which they refer to as "clarity" is the focus ring. The middle ring is called "brightness" and this is what controls light sensitivity, hence lighter or darker, and the outer ring is the 5 - 50 zoom ring. I've uploaded the two description images so you can see how they differ in placement of control rings. This is NOT a problem as long as you know that your particular camera will look like one or the other image. 3. The lens control rings were extremely tight, so much so that when attempting to adjust any of the control rings, the force needed to change a setting began to unscrew the lens. The fix is simple: just work all three lens rings back and forth a few times until you feel the lens operate smoothly as the lubrication loosens up. This is not uncommon with screw mount lenses, all screw mount lenses going back in time have this issue.... its not a defect. Once you initially work the lens until control rings operate smoothly the lens operates as it should. Photos attached show exposure, the effect of depth of field and zoom. The images were very sharp at point of focus and the exposure ("brightness" ) had wide range.

Excellent picture quality. The adjustable zoom and focus make it easy to frame your subject. The manually adjustable exposure helps to limit glare.

The lens loosened up after using it for a day. There no way to tighten it. Still works but it is a pain.

This 16MP USB camera delivers really good 4656 x 3496 resolution images with good color and sharpness The 5-50mm manual varifocal lens gives great control over focus and framing, though adjusting it takes a little finesse (you’ll need to loosen/tighten screws). This is Plug-and-play USB 2.0-no drivers are needed. Though honestly, I wish it was 3.0. That and the manual aspect is why I took a star away. It works with Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and Raspberry Pi (I'm using this for my Jetson Nano) Has a long 9.8ft cable for flexible setup and to move around.
