Very tasty. **Q: Does it have an expiry date? How long can I keep it if unopen?** A: The cans I bought do have an expiration date (2020) and I would not recommend keeping it more then 48 hours open in the fridge. **Q: what is "Abalone Type Shellfish?" Is this a fake Abalone?** A: This is NOT abalone. The can clearly says "abalone type" It may say it is a similar taste but if you have ever eaten real abalone, the taste cannot be copied and is not similar to any other shellfish. Abalone has a very delicate heady, musky, delicious aftertaste. I have never eaten anything that has a similar taste and the taste cannot be duplicated.! Be sure the label says it IS abalone and be prepared to pay a high price for it as well. If you pay $40 for an ounce, it may be real.( read the label) You can get Abalone type shellfish canned, in asian markets for $4 per can if you want to buy a fake but beware, it will not taste at all like abalone. **Q: How do I prepare the abalone?** A: One doesn't prepare the abalone: it's edible right out of the can where I presume it was boiled. I use it in seafood salads or with Japanese cucumber salad.
