Yale YRD450-N-BLE-BSP Assure Lock 2 Plus with Bluetooth Apple Home Keys Smart, Black Suede, No Wi-Fi

AVOID AVOID AVOID - Amazon should be ashamed to even sell this product! I purchased this lock, paid for it to be professionally installed by a carpenter into my door, only to discover it couldn’t be set up to work. After hours of frustration, I contacted Yale support, only to be informed that the app required to operate the lock isn’t available in the UK! Save yourself the trouble and avoid this product if you’re in the UK.

It seems like the homekey functionality doesn’t work at all. Nothing happens when you tap the home key on the lock. I’ve reached out to support and they did the typical try a factory reset but as expected, that didn’t do anything. It seems like this product hasn’t been well developed / tested and you can find many other similar stories.

Homekey is a game changer! Disappointed the Yale matter module still hasn’t materialised but works fine with an Apple TV home hub. Battery life is around 6 months.

This lock is awesome. We have iPhones and apple watches and it so amazing to not only be able to unlock with pin codes but with our devices. Sharing codes and remote unlocking was a bit of a challenge at first; I ordered the lock specifically without the wifi radio because I'd read that it draws much more power to stay connected to wifi and I'd have to change the batteries more often. Well let me tell you, changing the batteries more often is worth it. The convenience of wifi connectivity can't be understated. Just keep extra AA lithium primary batteries on hand. They last longer.

I love the product, worked well with iPhones and Apple Watches (except that one instance when after factory reset, Apple Watch home key cannot be recognized). Just need to note that this has no keys so if something goes wrong (very unlikely - since there’s a backup battery), you’re out of luck and locked out. Having ol’ keys will keep that from happening. If you’re using it in Singapore, you’re gonna need USA App Store access to get the Yale Access app. Update: the lock unreliably detects the locked/unlocked status now. Whenever it locks by itself, the next time someone unlocks it manually using the thumbturn - it does not go all the way unless you apply a bit more force. If not, the lock will not detect it as fully unlocked (and features like auto-lock will not work since it thinks it's still locked). Tried calibrating, re-handing, factory-reset, etc....but none helped. Would have been a great lock if not for that. And now it’s gone to a point that it’s better to just get another lock. Yale support was great, but in the end, it was the product that needed more improvements.
