GAC doesn’t show flow direction! *by D***G on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 17, 2018* This was purchased to replace the Watts 525 RO system which is a five stage filtration system.This is way cheaper than the original and easier to find but I haven’t tested how well it works.Installation is fairly simple, but there are two things you need to know:1) Check if your GAC filter uses push connection or if it’s threaded. If it’s the threaded type, you’ll need to buy two of the same adapters. The adapter is a 1/4 NPT female to 3/8 push connection. I recommend one be a straight adapter and the other a 90 degree elbow. These can easily be found at Home Depot. Don’t forget to use Teflon tape for the NPT side.2) The GAC filter doesn’t have flow direction! Nothing is labeled and doesn’t come with instructions. I don’t know how so many people wrote reviews yet no one mentioned anything about it (which makes me think some reviews aren’t real). Anywho, I made an assumption and based the flow direction on the shape of the GAC filter housing and compared it to the old one.Overall, the installation is easy. You can save a lot of money doing it yourself. I also think most of the filters in this set are interchangeable so you don’t have to stick with this type.
