Great locking tuners.
Love these Grover Rotomatics. Fit my PRS SE Custom 24 perfectly. Easiest locking tuners to make string changes once you know the secret of how to align the internal cam holes......turn the post till you feel the click.

Great Replacement Gretsch Electromatic
Great product. Wasn't quite sure how it worked. Watched a quick video on it. About as easy as it gets. Installed them on a Gretsch Electromatic without any modification needed.

Best Case Scenario
Perfect replacements for my Orangewood "Oliver" OM size acoustic. Instalation was a breeze... they were a perfect fit, and yes they work beautifully! They're moderately priced and I couldn't imagine a better choice. The 18.1 gear ratio makes tuning quick and smooth. These locking tuners are a wise option that takes the time and frustration out of changing your strings too. These Grovers are groovy!

Drop-in replacement on PRS SE Standard, weighs less than stock
As others have noted, these are a direct drop-in replacement tuner on (most?) PRS SE guitars.. everything including the screw hole lined up perfectly on the PRS SE Standard I installed them in, and looking at a PRS SE EG, they also line up perfectly for that guitar. I ended up using the screws, washer, and bushings from the PRS tuners; I may also swap the knobs out in the future, if the PRS ones will work (not sure.) [March 2012 - I finally got around to seeing if the PRS knobs would work on the Grover tuners; they will not.. so if you buy these for a PRS SE, be prepared for your guitar to look slightly off "stock". Bummer, as I do like the look and feel of the PRS knob much better.. but then again, with these tuners, hardly have to touch 'em.] One thing I've heard some people mention about locking tuners is that they weigh more.. I didn't think it'd really matter either way to me, but for the fun of it I figured I'd compare using my kitchen scale. I took the card with all six tuners in it out of the plastic package, and weighed the Grover tuners before swapping.. these 406c's come in at 7.05oz. After swapping the tuners, I put the six PRS tuners back into the same card, and weighed them.. they came in at 7.45oz. So the replacement locking tuners actually weigh less than stock. That may be due to the knobs (the Grover knobs are noticeably smaller); not sure if that would make up a full .4oz though. In any case, installation was quick (it took about 20 minutes from the time I removed the old strings to when the new strings with the new tuners were tuned up and ready to go), and after 'stretching' the strings a few times and re-tuning, they seem to be staying in tune pretty well. Time will tell! Also worth noting that these tuners had no problems at all fitting heavier strings; I installed a set of D'Addario EXL117's, which are set up for Drop D tuning, and the heaviest string is a .056.. not the heaviest string in the world, but as heavy as I'm interested in playing.

Great Tuners
Quality tuners from Grover. Installed on a Firefly LP Jr copy. Fit perfectly.

Great with one problem.
They are beautiful, they keep your guitar in tune better than whatever stock tuners you have on your guitar now, and the convenience of changing strings so quickly is just awesome. BUT... If you use them according to instructions, you will burn through high e strings like nobody's business. I went through 4 brand-new high-e's (11's and elixir's, in other words: not the string's fault) in a two-day span. Every single one would break at the tuning peg while tuning or after a whole-step bend. Obviously frustrated, I examined them but could find no flaws. My guitar tech said the same and guessed the problem must be internal. I contacted the seller- - B&G Music- and they sent a very quick and helpful response (as well as an offer to replace them, which I have not needed to take). Here's the issue in a nutshell: These things simply won't lock down securely on the thinnest strings, meaning it slips a little, wears it, and it breaks. For me, this just means the high-e, but for people playing lighter sets you may have issues with your b as well. As the seller explained, he has experienced the identical issues, and they continued even after swapping tuning heads. The work-around is simple, you just do one full wrap around the post instead of the "normal" pull to tension, lock, and clip they suggest in the instructions. Since doing this, I have had no further issues. So all in all, they are amazing but have a simple flaw that can be worked around (although they are Grover, so you really shouldn't have too). Hope this review saves someone the frustration and strings that I went through.

These are excellent. Got em as replacements for the standard Marvel ones on my Gretsch 5622 - smooth gearing, the plating is very good and looks like it will stand up long term. Easy to use also - a real time saver when r re-stringing.

I highly recommend this product. The tuning became more stable in my LTD EC-256 and there’s no need to bore new screw holes… perfect fit!!!

I bought a PRS SE Standard 24 just over a year but haven't used it because its tuning stability was hopeless; literally only lasting a few minutes. I love everything else about it but it was unusable. New strings made no difference so I finally decided to do something about it and, after some research into what seems to be a common problem with these guitars, I replaced the nut with a Graphtech PT-6643-00. That did improve things, but didn't cure the problem. I bought these tuners because there was firm evidence that they are a straight swap and I was recording with the guitar within an hour of installation - even on new strings. Some days later, I can pick up the guitar and play it straight off without tuning. The buttons are smaller than the PRS ones, they could be swapped if you don't like the look, but I don't care. Now I have a great sounding, and playing, guitar thanks to theses quality bits of hardware.
