It truly puts her to sleep. She just stares at the stars turning and eventually knods out. It's beautiful and has so many different colors and choices to choose from. It's bright and you can make out every star so well. You can also turn down the brightness by taking the second color off. Yes it even can have more than one color at a time. (Your choices are endless)The timer is awesome or you can leave it on all night or just use it as a night light with no stars and no rotation. I seen some reviews that the globe itself is cheap and cracked. No, that's how it is made. It is made of a plastic material (thick plastic material but flimsy if you squeeze it) and if you push really hard or squeeze it really hard, I am sure it will crack buuuut who would do that?! It's not supposed to be played with. It is a light to be set and left alone. I don't regret this purchase and I usually am so picky! You won't regret this but don't purchase it if you are looking for something your child can play with. It's not meant for that. But as far a night light, a beautiful scenery, your child will love it.
